Gas prices have nothing to do with how much oil we import. Gas prices are determined mostly by supply and demand In which OPEC nations collude to control the global supply.

the beauty of helping ukraine is that current active duty military personnel lives aren't in danger and nor is america while russia is incurring all kinds of losses.
Ehhh… kind of. But buybacks, in my opinion create artificial value. Sure the shareholder will see gains, but it’s based on, what I think is, manipulation of the stock price. Dividends give the shareholder an actual return on their investment, not some speculative return.
There was a news report somewhere stating a bunch of refineries we're taken offline during the pandemic and never restarted. It was probably intentional so more gas couldn't be refined keeping prices high.crude oil was also around $150 in like 2012, and gas prices never topped $5 then either.
