I wonder could they swing a Miami deal? Like off all the teams in the league I think they have the assets to get Jimmy and they couldn't chase him in FA cause they don't got enough cap space.

According to Krawczynski's latest piece Butler gave Thibs notice about his long term future earlier in the summer
renderTimingPixel.png

Relevant part:

The four-time All-Star has received a torrent of criticism for the timing of his request. It has put Thibodeau in an incredibly difficult position with little leverage as other teams start to swoop in to try to take advantage. But sources say this week was not the first time Butler made it known to Thibodeau that he was unhappy and did not see a long-term future with the franchise. When it became clear early in the summer that he was not going to get the renegotiation and extension, those feelings were made known to Thibodeau, sources said.

Toronto and Boston did it.
Toronto did it because they wanted to shake up a team that they felt had peaked. They're going to try to keep Kawhi, if he leaves in 2019, they get to rebuild.

Boston gave up a guy they had no intentions on re-signing for Kyrie who would they would have under contract for two years.

Indy just traded someone that didn't want to be there for someone in their mid 20s that does. Why would they give their best player on a team that looks to have a nice foundation for someone that's going to leave as soon as the season ends?

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
No he shouldn't have. You have a generational talent in KAT and the opportunity to acquire a superstar in Jimmy. You don't wait - you get as many chances at a chip as you can now. Waiting for Lavine, Dunn, and a #7 draft pick to develop is not only stupid management but it's fukking expensive.

Your logic is so fukking stupid

This is why Anthony Davis is in the mess he’s in

This is why Lebron never truly had a good team around him in Cleveland

And where did that get the wolves? One step forward two steps backwards they’ll most likely be in a worse position after this trade than they were before it

You need discipline and patience

Should golden state have traded klay for love?

Was Love as good as Jimmy? No. And GS was in a far different position than Minnesota. Point is the name of the game is to acquire stars. Minnesota would have had to pay KAT, Lavine, and Wiggins. And then wait for Dunn and their pick to develop. They weren't coming close to the playoffs and they'd have been in no position to sign Marquee FAs. Not knowing your personnel is just as bad as doing a terrible trade. Minnesota was 3rd seed in the toughest conference off that trade. They did the right move but Jimmy and them couldn't get a long. Tough shyt but if they would have traded Wiggins they'd be even better off now.

Meh....You can build around Jimmy. If he had another elite perimeter defender then they would be MJ/Scottie Light. When he had a decent defender with rondo they went up 2-0 on the #1 seed in boston.

Pair butler with Giannas and Bledsoe or Jimmy and Kawhi or Butler and Oladipo

Don't care what the stats say. He's not that good.
