Clear example of the issue at hand here.

We're piling on Cornette, who probably doesn't hate black people and see them as inferior so much as he has very retrograde opinions of how one should refer and talk to black people (call it racism either way, just different types), but you're celebrating using a gif of a guy who not only has those same kinds of retrograde opinions, but also actively did not want to put non-white wrestlers in prominent positions while booking (Booker T's the exception, but those were very extenuating circumstances).

The cognitive dissonance is real with wrestling fans.

Add in the internet's inability to understand that when given two opposing sides, you really don't have to pick either one in some cases.

Because the only real answer in Cornette vs Russo is "fukk both of those a$$holes"

So... Cornette is basically the racist white man who doesn't think he's racist because he has black friends that he's never called 'n!gger'... but meanwhile says racist shyt on the regular.

His refusal to move on from 1982 done finally exposed him for good. He wants to live in the old days of wrestling so bad, now he can go live there. He always wanted it to be like back in the days when racist heel promos were able to fly, but I didn't know he was dumb enough to actually try it. Welp... :manny: he outlived his purpose long ago, won't be missed.

And who the fukk is at NWA and thought that shyt was gonna go over OK before they aired it??

I've said way worse about white people so the comment doesn't really offend me at all. That said, the comment was in poor taste and should not have been said on TV.

I don't know if Cornette is outright racist or just a reckless CAC tho. Growing up in the South you'll hear a lot of comments like this from southerners but they literally summarize people and talk like this about EVERYONE. Not that anyone should tolerate it, but its literally engrained in the culture and they ain't gonna change. So its best to just avoid and not support or have an understanding of them as people.

Interesting. Can you expound on that? I’m a northern cat myself and do have family from South Carolina and North Carolina but I’ve never spent enough time down there to understand that part of the culture

Where in the south you at again?

I’m from the south too and maybe it’s due to where I’ve lived.... I’ve never heard White folks on average talk like that.

Been all over, Born in the North (NJ/NY), grew up in the South (TN/GA/FL), lived and done business in about 6 more states as well.

What I'm trying to say is loose and reckless talk is extremely common amongst southern rednecks and let's be honest, the Wrestling Industry is filled with them. Their idea of being friendly to people is to shyt talk them. Seriously lol. I think Cornette is a product of his southern environment than outright racist because white people in the South commonly think and talk in similar manner. I know this because I've been in enough fights (verbal and physical) to realize a level of it is just engrained in the culture. I don't think we will ever get people like this to every change their culture or start accepting us the way we should be accepted and treated. That doesn't mean you should or would tolerate racism or less than your standard tho. I don't actually know if Cornette is outright racist or not because I believe racism has levels but he's definitely less racist than a lot of the people in the industry.
