Where in the south you at again?

I’m from the south too and maybe it’s due to where I’ve lived.... I’ve never heard White folks on average talk like that.

That's what I mean tho… "on average".

Even white folks ain't crazy enough to talk like this on the regular, especially around black folks, but you ever caught wind of what they say when we ain't around... :mjpls:

This is not an average thing people in the South do and think, but it IS a common one. Especially in this industry of wrestling where everyone thinks they are fake tough guys and have a high opinion of themselves, they can and will talk reckless when they think they can get away with it. The issue here to me is how did Cornette even feel comfortable enough to say shyt like that on TV?

Been all over, Born in the North (NJ/NY), grew up in the South (TN/GA/FL), lived and done business in about 6 more states as well.

What I'm trying to say is loose and reckless talk is extremely common amongst southern rednecks and let's be honest, the Wrestling Industry is filled with them. Their idea of being friendly to people is to shyt talk them. Seriously lol. I think Cornette is a product of his southern environment than outright racist because white people in the South commonly think and talk in similar manner. I know this because I've been in enough fights (verbal and physical) to realize a level of it is just engrained in the culture. I don't think we will ever get people like this to every change their culture or start accepting us the way we should be accepted and treated. That doesn't mean you should or would tolerate racism or less than your standard tho. I don't actually know if Cornette is outright racist or not because I believe racism has levels but he's definitely less racist than a lot of the people in the industry.
Good insight. Appreciate it homie

Basically.

This is what i'm saying, this shyt too engrained in these people's minds and cultures. They are NEVER gonna change. You just gotta force an understanding and level of respect or complete absolve yourself of people like this.

:francis:Yeah, I'm kinda glad Heenan got out before his Mexican jokes bit him in the ass.

He probably would have made a sincere apology for them, though. :manny:

This is the thing about only propping up the clever a$$hole commentators and considering the earnest play by play guys hacks, you cant expect the first group to leave certain things off limits.

There’s a difference between real life and wrestling and also between a heel and a face. I don’t hold heels accountable for stuff they may say in character. But in Cornette’s case he can’t use that as an excuse.

Wrestling, like trucking, for a long time had little to no formal protocol and was the bread and butter for many an uneducated hick.

Both trucking and wrestling have become much more diverse yet the stench of racism is as strong as ever because it festered and thrived within these industries for so long.

I will never be shocked by racist actions and individuals in either industry. Trucking isn't a source of entertainment for the masses though. Wrestling is. Quite unfortunate one will never be able to fully enjoy it without inhaling that ever present taint of racism.

That's why the my company is less racist than yours posts are so funny. Stan bigots brehs.

On some real shyt though... fukk the thing he said on the show, he busted out worse stuff in that audio with him talkin' about when he said 'get that ****** outta here' and started complaining about 'payng for shyt from 500 years ago'... that's the surefire sign of a dude who's more than likely been sayin' racist shyt for ALL 35 years he's been in the business.

I wanna hear this podcast tho... I can almost predict how many ways he's gonna backpedal and try to make it like it's just wrestling kayfabe shyt.
