Jim Jackson has an interesting take in this clip and i kind of see what he is talking about when he says bring up Bron, Jordan and Magic.

And i 100% agree with him on Kobe since Kobe is a great value version of Jordan so there is no wow i have never seen this before?

But Larry Bird is more interesting case

They only mentioned Wade's name just to get ratings for their irrelevant show. Mods need send this thread to the bushes while the network needs the same to Jim Jackson :camby:

LOL@ Kobe's fanbase is bigger than Bird's and Magic cmon SON STOP IT

Bird's fanbase is white fans of levels you don't see.
Yes the fukk he is. Kobe is way more idolized and globally and it may not even be close. You gotta remeber, Kobe came up in an era where the rest of the world was just starting to really respect basketball

Even if you disagree his perspective and reasoning actually make sense. He didn’t even shyt on Bird (even though of course c00nlock and Wiley tried to make it seem like he only said it because it’s racial). All Jim really said is that Lebron, Mike, and Magic were on a whole different level above everyone else. :yeshrug:

The problem with that is Magic & Bird are a tandem. No one mentions one without the other. It's literally "Magic & Bird", so with that he's wrong. It goes
Magic & Bird
Jordan
Lebron

Unfortunately, the generation after Jordan never had a chance. They were called "Heir to His Airness" which slighted their greatness.

But TheColi told me the players know more about the game than the fans, therefore, anyone disagreeing with him is wrong.

no one should take a dumbass buckeye's comment seriously :mjlol:

bird was one of the greatest trash talker ever according to every damn nikkas who played against him.

bird would fill the room by simply being the greatest cac baller ever walked on earth. ain't nobody disrespecting bird not even the GOAT himself :russ:

I kinda get what JJ saying but he worded it wrong and explained it horribly

If he's trying to say there's a certain elite of the elite, and that there are levels to this shyt then of course I agree

Harden is an all star. He's not that LBJ, KD or Curry level tho.

Kobe is an all time legend, but I wouldn't put him in that pantheon of all time elites like a Wilt, Kareem, MJ etc.

But where he fukked up was not putting Bird on that level.

Also, he talked about "aura" which is wierd cuz alot of great players do have that aura (and alot of that has to do with personality and marketing etc). But if u take the literal definition, transformational.... Lot of great players were transformational but not necessarily elite, and vice versa

This is a stupid take.

Basically he just saying only 1 player per era can be transformational

Jordan

These are the transformational players of the past 40 years

Steph is nowhere near the level that Magic (and Bird), Bron & Jordan had. There's really no one currently on that level, aside from Lebron.

This is a stupid take.

But from what he's saying, aside from Magic & Bird who started this, it has worked out that way. And they skipped some generations. From my understanding of what he's saying, moving the game that much further into global recognition, it has been like that. Magic and Bird pushed the game exponentially, then MJ came and took it another couple of notches, Lebron came and took it another couple of notches.

Steph Curry has transformed the game of basketball without a doubt probably more so than Bron. You can’t teach Bron’s combination honestly that’s probably why he hasn’t many people you could name on hus family tree

Jordan had babies
Magic had babies
Steph has babies

True. But so has AI, so has Shaq, Webber, Pippen, Jason Kidd, Zeke - even Deke & Rodman, but that's not what he's talking about. If he was, then you have to mention Doc, the aforementioned. He's wording it wrong but his explanation really harps on marketability. Mega Superstar marketing. From, that he can say Bird wasn't, however, Magic & Bird were ALWAYS paired together. like 90's of Magic commercials had a C's reference.
