My point is that Europeans AS A WHOLE, especially Catholics and Protestants controlled and profited from mercantile/commercial capitalism, which was the slave trade and when the slave trade was legally banned in 1808, the majority of the ones breaking the laws and shipping illegally were Protestants. And who profited the most from argiculutral capitalism and the King cotton???? Catholics and protestants.
