The irony is that Macacagnan just received a GM award for signing Revis to exorbitant amount of money and not making the playoffs.
Not his fault Fitzpatrick remembered that he was Fitzpatrick in week 17

I'm on record being a huge Butler fan since his play in the preseason. But with that said, couple of things.
Why are folks acting as if Revis is some sort of slipping liability? Was he Revis of old? No. Did he perform top 5 to 10 this year? Certainly. And the $16 million isn't that big of an issue with a swelling cap coming soon and huge contracts that will soon be off the books for the Jets.
I just don't share the worry
I think the Reiss quote sums up most Patriots fans feelings. Revis helped us win a Super Bowl. People wanted to keep him. He left for more dollars than Belly could handle and he still was a good/great corner back for the Jets. The Pat's felt that Butler had the right level of compete to fill at least an adequate amount of his spot and he played better than most of us hoped. No hard feelings anywhere and no one that I know is laughing at the Jets for signing him.I'm on record being a huge Butler fan since his play in the preseason. But with that said, couple of things.

It's soooo contrived man.Just an excuse to suck off the Pats and shyt on the Jets. Only thing surprising or noteworthy about this season is the Jets being in control of their own destiny in Week 17. Nobody was predicting doom and gloom for the Pats or acting like the Jets would be instant SB contenders.
If they win this year, they'll only be one behind. They've also made two others and lost by miracle plays. Brady has shown no signs of slowing down so idk how you can say with certainty that the Patriots can't reach Steelers' six 'chips...
Just sayin'![]()

I knew he wasn't going to pay Revis.. Revis plays hardball and was not taking anything less than what Richard Sherman got..I mean he knew he wasn't going to outbid the Jets once they pretty much stated they were gonna pay whatever for him.
I do wonder what Beli would've spent on him. I think he would've overpaid. Ironically, the Jets may have done more damage letting the Pat's try to keep him

Bottom 5 schedule, top 5 defense, top WR corps and 100+ later, and no playoffs. All Mac did was switch some chairs around; he didn't get anywhere.
He has already reached peak value. If he were a stock, now is the time to begin shorting him.I'm on record being a huge Butler fan since his play in the preseason. But with that said, couple of things.

Injected our offense with some youth. It's a year later for it nowWhat should have he done this year?

Dog....we should have at least added some youth offensively. He inherited arguably the worst roster in the league. Patience please.

Brian winters is our youngest building block.
