Jets won battle for Darrelle Revis, but did Patriots win the war?

I don't think a season ever carries over. I like Maccagnan and I like Bowles. I'm happy they acted on the special teams. I'm not declaring next season a failure already because of the schedule. 9 wins could get you in next year, who knows.

Having the Pats in the division will always make it more difficult, as they never have a down year.
Pts have nothing to do with it. They haven't actually been steamrolling over the Jeta every year. Problem is that we simply have a tougher schedule next season

Pats vs Jets isn't the problem. The Pats rarely lose AFC games.

But the schedule being tougher next year doesn't mean we need to make massive changes and question Mccagnan's moves to date. Everyone knows the offense needs more depth.

We need to make massive Ife wife changes because we simply are old there.

I just wish we started sooner rather than later

What would you have done last offseason differently?

Also...there's a false hope that comes with going from being a bad team to "almost" making the playoffs. Some rest on their laurels thinking they don't have to make moves as urgently as they should....still living off the bubble gum and glue which held them together the season prior thinking it was brick and mortar to build off of.

I don't think Maccagnan thinks this is a finished product because we won 10 games. The team needs to draft better, Free Agency is never a silver bullet to success.

I didn't say finished product, I said something to build upon. You can have 10 wins and still have very little to build on the next season. I sometimes fear, especially hearing Jets fans, that they avoid believing that we may have peaked.

That's due to shytty drafting, which we can't blame Maccagnan for.

Revis is washed coaching staff doesn't have the same faith in him no more. I guess they will get another year out of him and release him.

We really need some linebackers

He's not washed. He's just never had great ball skills though, which a lot of the good corners as they got older could rely on.

He's living off old reputation. Next year they're gonna throw at him something serious and it won't be pretty. Revis can really hold his own against physical receivers but when it comes against fast and quick receivers his lunch will get ate.

He needs to try and get faster, maybe shed weight. But he's getting paid so who knows. Both Woodsons had the ability to move to safety as they got older...we're not getting that out of Revis
