So basically he needs an all-star team to be successful.

You can blame the line all you want, Alex Smith was sacked more than anyone else in the league last year, he did quite okay.

Jets Fans,

Would you rather have Sanchez or Josh Freeman?

Sanchez...mainly because I enjoy playoff wins and he's already given me more than any other QB in Jets' history. This is not a slight on Freeman by the way.

Sanchez can be cold-blooded. Don't sleep.

He threw for the lowest yards in the air pass attempts out of every starting QB in the league

That's fine, he had a top 10 qb ranking and allowed his team to do what they do best, and when they needed him to step it up, he did. Jets would love to have a guy like Alex Smith on that team.

But whatever does that have to do with him being sacked the most and still succeeding, it seems like a lot of people are making the excuse of Sanchez can't play well because his line stinks (and it's not a bad one) but there are other players who play well and get sacked more than he does.

In 2009 Rodgers and Rothlisberger were sakced 50 times each and they both managed qb ratings of over 100.

Sanchez has only played 3 seasons. He also had Schotty grooming him. Cut him some slack.

I do think he needs to get out of the 20 step drop backs but again, he is young, he can be coached out of that.

I just don't think Sporano is the type of guy to help him there. I don't get why the Jets don't get a dude who has a proven track record of grooming QB's. The talent is there.

I tried making all of the points you made going into last year. You know, a year following two AFC Championship Game appearances. It's pointless. At some point, the league, or maybe I should blame it on the media, decided QBs not only need to start from day 1, but they need to have success within the first couple of years and be competing for Pro Bowl spots in that time frame as well. It's completely asinine.

Alex Smith would be the Alex Smith of every season of his NFL career minus last season if he was on the Jets. And would get nowhere near as far as Sanchez did. While Smith had Harbaugh building his confidence, Sanchez has had Rex shytting on him every couple of weeks. You think Rex wouldn't be shytting on Smith much harder?

And Rodgers and Roethlisberger had Joe Philbin and Bruce Arians as offensive coordinators respectively. Not to mention far superior rushing and receiving attacks. And I almost forgot...Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger are top 5 fukking QBs in the league. :snoop:

So you're telling me if Sanchez went 17 TD's and 5 int's the Jets wouldn't be happy with that?

That would get the Jets back to the playoffs I should have prefaced it by saying the Jets would love a performance like Smith's last year.

I agree Smith on NYJ without Harbaugh's tutelage would be a disaster.

But we`ll see how much of a bum he is this year, I`d bet my life he outperforms Sanchez.

I'm telling you averaging 5.1 yards in the air per throw and still winning games is something most qbs are capable of doing.

Let's not make this into an arguement over Alex Smith. He was the king of checkdowns last year.

A prolific checkdown passer.

A titan of throwing the checkdown pass.

The king of hitting a running back or TE.....on the checkdown.

A 40% passer in the red zone.

Please.....don't do this.

I'm not bigging up Sanchez.

You're bigging up Alex Smith.....and his ability to launch check down passes.
