the notion that a stanford stem graduate would have trouble getting a job is just stupid, and your quote just shows how jesse jackson is misleading people

The kid was saying that it will be difficult to become a leader. Dude has a nice resume, but he one of the few who will get a shot..then will he just a be a worker bee..or will he be a leader? The more I dig up on this the more you can tell there is a problem. It's two fold. There is an obvious lack of talent and there is a lack of cultivating that talent. Now this isn't just blacks who are complaining about this, Latinos too. When this type of stuff happens...and they don't want to show their employment numbers, it's a red flag for discrimination. Something isn't right.

the numbers arent any secret, like i said i can tell you what the numbers are, for all intents and purposes, its about zero, there are very few black people in silicon valley,

im not in the bay area im im southern california but i work in technology and ive never heard of a black person with a STEM degree having problems getting a job, there simply arent a lot of black people with STEM degrees, that is why i say if there was vast discrimination against black people in silcon valley that would be a step up because right now there are no people black people in silicon valley, relatively speaking, and the reason is that there are no black people with technical degrees, relatively speaking

the notion that you can negotiate with companies to hire people that dont exist is dumb, it shows an antiquated mentality that is till living in the 60's and has no clue, jesse jackson and you need to sit down and have some deep thoughts

I've never heard of a black stem major hurting for a job, if you are black and have a stem degree you are virtually guaranteed a job in corporate America and or Silicon Valley anybody saying otherwise is full of shyt

The basic bottom line is his money isn't looking up so he's drafted paperwork as a means to try to extort these major corps. He and Sharpton. They are expert at this. They have organizations set up to fan the flames and then quell them.


Instead of real, roll up your sleeves and get dirty setting the community right and teaching folks how to "fish", they'd rather just have the occasional fish fry for the community and make sure y'all are happy to think they are woking for you.


There is no interest in them making sure the community is stable. They gain nothing from it. Only in instability and turmoil do they have a place. You not about to raise up intelligent forward thinking men and women knowing that your little games and tricks will be even less effective.

Its not magic. these companies need to make an effort to hire blacks which they are not doing. currently they Depend on networks that were traditionally closed off to blacks to pull talent from. Either you or another poster noted silicon valley dates back to the 1950s. Blacks didnt get civil rights till the 60's and even then one can only imagine how even more limited the opportunities for blacks were cause of the racial climate at the time.

If left to there own most companies hire people who look like them and cuturally fit in their organization first. So larger companies have to make an effort to diversify which most at least pretend to do. Thats why i mentioned the lack of silicon valley recruiting at black engineering conventions and hbcu's. When they dont make any effort at all like silicon valley then they start getting visits from guys like jesse jackson to force them. Depending on their closed off old boys network for hiring is a cop out and way to maintain the status quo.
