Breh, The Hitmen weren't out here just making beats and Puff just comes through and picked what he liked. It didn't work like that. Puff would bring The Hitmen a sample and they did what they do.

And most vocal arrangers aren't calling out notes because a lot of singers aren't music literate to know different keys.

It's obvious you don't understand music and only have a basic understanding if it yourself. That makes it even funnier that you are in here trying to call someone who actually developed GOATs a producer at the most basic level.

Being complex doesn't make anything good. It just makes it complex.

Breh trying to belittle someone is unnecessary as fukk. That’s how threads go left. I do not have a basic understanding of music and you would probably be offended if I told you the same. The point is, dude has not shown nowhere the level of skill in the studio compared to the dudes he speaking down on. I don’t see how this is even debatable breh. And yeah, that’s exactly how it works breh. Producers make beats and people pick what they like. I surely don’t think Puff was behind every beat they crafted lol. That preposterous breh. Where is the video evidence of him working in the studio?

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
It’s corny. HE is the one who called Puff out. Puff wasn’t begging to battle u fam. If u feel like Puff is under u. Why don’t u battle one of the OTHER people on the songwriters hall of fame like Jay or Missy? Why don't u call out Dre since Puff ain’t on ur level? If the roles were reversed and Dre did that to Puff. Puff would’ve rose to the occasion. Nothing else left to be said. U can’t play big man after u been calling a nikka out.

1) Producer do not make beats, the make SONGS.

2) Puff is not even on the credits of everything The Hitmen did. Some of them have solo credits. Other Hitmen even collaborated with each other on tracks and a lot of them don't have Puff's name on them. They have tracks on Jay's Vol., CNN War Report, and Nas's I Am that have production from various Hitmen and none have Puff's name on them.

^^^ and this is what I am getting at. If you knew what you were talking about, I wouldn't have to explain it.

My point is, for the songs that Puff does have credit on. No one knows how much this man was contributing like that and just runs with the myth he’s some super producer. Whereas someone like Dre or JD, even if someone points out co producers they’ve worked with, people assume they still made significant contributions to the tracks they a part of. You have infamous stories about Puff coming into sessions and telling the producer to add a bell or something to get credit. These stories are from industry producers. So this is not some new criticism that only people outside the industry just made up lol. If he infamous for getting credit for barley doing anything, then surely it’s fair to wanna know what exactly he did on specific tracks being that he’s going around acting as if he’s the most untouchable producer.

This is all Jermaine’s fault

Nobody’s fault but his he spent the 90s doing his best Puff Daddy impression. Now people will never be able to focus on what you actually did because they remember you trying to be a Lil version of the next guy :hubie:
Jd was a boss and dropping hits. Nobody looked at him like he trying to be puffy. He was actually doing what puff acted like he was doing.
