I agree with this for sure. I go hard on Puff, but only because he overstates his musical and producer skills. Yeah you got a few examples of him telling the producers what to sample. But do you think Puff was diggging in the crates, constantly giving direction to what producers need to sample. Man hell naw, nikkas making beats and he coming through picking most time. He may say add this or add that, but how much credit does one deserve for changing some words here and there? Isn’t the genius in the core idea, lyrics, and musical composition, and not the small adjustments? And when it comes to vocal arrangements, I’m sure he’s doing it in the most basic of ways. He not calling out keys for people to sing in, or vocal arranging in the complex sense. So yeah he a producer but it’s levels to this shyt, and he at one of the lowest levels.

Breh, The Hitmen weren't out here just making beats and Puff just comes through and picked what he liked. It didn't work like that. Puff would bring The Hitmen a sample and they did what they do.

And most vocal arrangers aren't calling out notes because a lot of singers aren't music literate to know different keys.

It's obvious you don't understand music and only have a basic understanding if it yourself. That makes it even funnier that you are in here trying to call someone who actually developed GOATs a producer at the most basic level.

You know JD has demos floating of songs he built from the ground up, beat boxing and speaking the words out to the melody.
So yes we will do that.
I'm not going to say JD has done it himself and alone, he had Dallas Austin, he had B Cox, and a host of others, but he also has the paperwork and is documented to be the man writing songs and creating the foundation for songs anad using others to bring it to life while adding their own flair.

These are things Puffy doesn't have at all, so nah, cut the bullshyt and trying to slight JD because you want to dikkride Puffy.

The Booth is really ignorant on production. And they are vastly overstating JD's involvement in a lot of these projects while dismissing Puff. Everybody knows Puff doesn't make beats. Making beats doesn't make you producer. It makes you a programmer. Soundclick and SoundCloud is full of great beat makers, but a lot of them couldn't create a song, which is why most never make it beyond SoundCloud and SoundCloud.
