Seth Rollin’s tweet is exactly what is wrong with WWE and wrestling as a whole. How can you be the best in world when putting are tuning out to your reign? These muthafukkas care more about how many finisher kick outs and floppy shyt they can fit in 30 minutes rather than developing engaging characters fans can invest in. When I was a kid I grew up on characters like Rock, Austin & Triple H. Kids these days got Seth & Baron Corbin :hhh:

People in here talking about how indies, Japan, AEW don’t tell stories but they aren’t having matches where the champ gets his fukked up knee beat on for 15 minutes then he makes his comeback full speed with his whole move set unimpeded.

I think Rollins is feeling the pressure of being top guy, having everything. The woman and top belt but ratings are sinking, attendance is dwindling and fans are hijacking his title defenses and chanting the name of an unproven brand. It doesn't help that Dean jumped ship and part of him probably feels betrayed so he's gotta defend his turf but he lost this one.

He responded defensively and threw out insults like wanted some smoke. He fell into some traps that he put himself in and came across bad. Calling dudes dorks, bringing up his bank account, being assisted by Baron Corbin who tried to big league didn't help.

By now it should be clear. He sees Moxley leave and gets tons of hype and media attention, a huge showcase at DON to a sold out house, a G1 entry, he literally has set the wrestling world on fire while Seth has given us record low ratings, record low attendances and very average matches.

The L's he is accumulating are unprecedented and the fact he is feuding with Oespray which so far is the wrestler of the year and trying to compare him to Ricochet (post anus blasting video) is pathetic

Young Bucks wrestled one match since January 4, Lucha Bros wrestled in Mexico 18 hours earlier and they go 3-4 days per week. Commentary beat that point into our heads all match and the wrestlers told that story in the ring. Story.

Nah, that ain't it, breh. I get that the commentary brought up the layoff, but they themselves didn't. I don't remember there being any cases of their timing being off, or appearing to be gassed. They basically went full speed with two guys who wrestle damn near daily as if they hadn't taken a break.

Again, they have great matches that I enjoy, but to say they're the best storytellers in wrestling is absurd.

Hell, I couldn't even tell you WHY their matches are happening.

Maybe it was explained on Being the Elite, or something.

And that's my other point. Almost everyone who praises their storytelling tells you that you have to watch BTE. I think people confuse the fact that they put effort into telling a story by producing BTE with them actually being good at telling a story. If you're a wrestler, and a viewer HAS to watch a completely separate webseries to get the story you're telling in your match, there's a disconnect.

We all didn’t appreciate Cena as much as we should have. I’m guilty
Everyone wanna be the next Cena but you gotta be a different type of dude to endure that pressure.

Cena became top guy when ratings first started really slipping. Dude endured a decade of being blamed as the source of the company's problems. Had matches and promos hijacked, watched attendance start to slip, had to deal with whatever creative fukkery Vince threw at him while working an ungodly schedule and keeping a smile on his face the entire time.

Not everyone can or even should do that. Having two champions now is interesting because we can see the difference in how they respond to it. Kofi seems to be having the time of his fukking life while Seth is clearly letting the pressure get to him.

Rollins has been sensitive about criticism & boos no matter where he was on the card, he definitely ain't built for this current pressure.

Rollins needs to chill honestly. I like the fact he’s poking his chest out because every once in a while someone needs to because Wrestling twitter and it’s hot tales can’t be easy to watch if you’re a performer

BUT

He doesn’t have the chops to do the Twitter back and forth thing with fans, that shyt is legitimately a skillset one wrongly worded tweet and you end up down a rabbit hole of crap

There’s a large segment of pro wrestling fan base that actively is looking for any and every reason to bash. .. WWE Seth is handing those to them right now via twitter

Him bashing folks with them tired ass “little guy” tropes even if tongue in cheek is gonna turn him heel in these dwindling arenas whether he wants to be or not.
