LOL @ marks talking about in ring. LOL
Pro-wrestling is about storylines PERIOD>
The fake fighting is just a vehicles to move the story.

Some how kids got confused and think who can do the best flips and acrobatics means a damn thing. LOL

pro wrestling was built off of the in-ring action.
people forget that this sport has been around since the 1800s and experienced multiple boom periods & golden eras with the focus being on in-ring action.

now when it comes to the WWE, they mostly attract casual fans who are into it moreso for the storylines & f*ckery. theyre not really into the actual sport aspect of it. the WWE is in a weird space right now where theyre not doing a good job at entertaining their audience who want to see foolery. they bring in all these great wrestlers, but they have them wrestling this watered-down style, so youre not satisfying the serious wrestling crowd either.

this is why WCW was kicking their ass. they knew how to balance both. TNA had the formula down but people just didn't want them to succeed for silly reasons. they were spanking the WWE in the quality department before and after the Hogan regime killed their momentum.

Pro-wrestling has always been about storyline.
Even in the golden era of the 30s it was about storyline. Gorgeous George was a villain a heel, you paid to see him lose, and put a face over.
Thats storyline.

NWA, WWF, WCW, Mid South, Florida Wrestling, Memphis, and etc all about story.

Wrestling is male theater, its all storyline.

The ability to tell a story in a ring is more paramount that arcrobatics and the other bullshyt.

Doesn't matter your dance choreography and the complixity. If a hulking out and a leg drop can connect with the audience, its superior than all the flippy shyt in the world. We saw that with Hulk and Rock, hell we saw that with Stone Cold, Hulk, Rock, Crow Sting, and etc.

Some of you marks are just confused, probably because you don't know beter

Can't knock Seth for this... Internet just wants competition and is going to dikk ride anything that is considered different

AEW is great for WWE...it needs good competition to keep it on its toes

Even the golden era 80s WWF had NWA and WCW down south to keep them honest

Seth had to bring up money cause Ospreay countered his biggest point about working at his level more than anyone.

Still, good to see one of the champs ride for his team.

1.) the only one confused is you, not knowing what a storyline is.
youre commenting on gorgeous George's character. you didn't say anything about a storyline.
Hogan hulking up & applying a leg drop is showmanship. you didn't say anything about a storyline.

2.) and you got me confused.
I love a good storyline to this day. but the in-ring is what kept me from growing out of the sport after the age of 9. and I luv showmanship as well, and that's just as much apart of in-ring as the workrate. I still rank the warrior as one of the all-time best, even tho he couldn't wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag.
hence the reason why I stopped paying attention to the WWE for YEARS. by 2007, their wrestling was generally bad and the showmanship was chitty. by 2011, I tuned out and didn't fully come back until like last year, thanks to the fact that they raided tons of talent away from other promotions.

and there were other boom periods & golden eras before the 1930s.
