90% of black people with DEEP POCKETS are from entertainment so they don’t really get this. All they do is market and promote brands and ventures. They’re not business people in the conventional sense but mascots. Can you imagine Diddy quietly owning anything?That transition from always-having-to-market-yourself to just-stay-quiet-and-earn is a difficult one for a lot of people.
The real lesson is seeing how other communities have actual business leaders and bosses to handle the actual ground work and negotiations for representation etc. there’s no black power out there so all they can do is stand on a street corner and yell until people give them money.
