That energy that brehs reserve for each other is telling of our self image and value. It's not because he was a dboy it's because he's Black. Black business have a hard time getting their just dues.

JEEZY: "I SAW nikkaS
I USED TO HUSTLE WITH IN THERE"

I mean, it’s the audience you rapped to and built ur career on. Let ‘em in!!
He wanted them for album sales not restaurant bookings. I can't be mad at opportunists being self serving that's business

Jeezy told young men about the dope game then told his son go to school. The actions speak. No reason to be mad at him. People just have to accept the motivations change with money. Business is business

You type like a MySpace thot in 2023. Let's not act like Black owners don't get that energy in their establishments when they reveal their ownership. They don't have to be former drug dealers.

"Once a dope dealer, always a dope dealer" is the mindset of these posts in this thread.. The same mindset police officers in the 80s and 90s had against black men with prior felonies on their record.. Brothers trying to fly straight and a crocked cop throw cuffs on him for something he didn't do. All because "he use to" do this and that. The reason you had hundreds/thousands of wrongfully convicted people just released after doing 30+..

So the consensus can be drawn that once you make it out, don't ever go back, because you will be forever remembered for what you "use to do"..

Can u honestly blame em tho?

Average Jeezy fan will never tour, become a famous, have neighbors in gated communitys so how do you expect them to grow and share his feelings?

Hence why they want to pull him to their level.

But they made him rich! He shouldnt forget it. He aint rappin about the gated communitys now is he?
I don’t believe in changing when it’s convienent for you, after you’ve already contributed to the fukkery

That’s called taking advantage

Bmore stand up!
I think y’all are judging his statements a bit too harshly.

:comeon:

Dude is in his 40’s and a business owner now…. So he tryna keep his shyt classy… I’m sure he remembers where he came from but when you get older your priorities and your outlook changes on things.

He tryna establish a reputable, classy steakhouse…. Not an after hours spot for nikkas to smoke weed and hit sales at, or ratchet chicks to be twerking and showing their ass at, scaring away all the high end consumers that’s gonna really spend that bread at the joint.

Y’all calling him a sellout just cuz he wanted his shyt to be low key?? Man some of y’all be judging the wrong shyt I swear

That’s the same audience that made you rich. Should have rapped about some other shyt, and people would have looked at your shyt differently. I get he a business owner now, but honestly the nikka still rapping about the same shyt now. Tough luck :manny:

It's a damn shame, Black restaurant owners gotta put disclaimers about what is appropriate behavior.

There are a certain type of Black people that always want to turn a place into the "hood spot" or "after hours spot". Take your ass home if you don't know how to carry yourself with some sense publicly.

If girls wanna twerk and dudes wanna get high while eating a steak, take your ass to the strip club, where that behavior is accepted.

Jeezy fans are in their mid 30s and 40s I doubt his demo was bugging lol

its these new clout chasing kids that only want something if it’s popular
he didn't open it recently it was a couple of years ago and you will be surprised how many fools with grey in their beards still want to act a fool.

There's a time and a place. I feel like Jeezy chose the wrong time and place to bring this up.

These are the people who helped to get you that steakhouse. Then we say black people don't support their own, but I don't hear white folks denigrating their folks like that, they just want the money at the end of the day.

Also, why does it take some ppl getting money to realize how to act like they got some sense?

:mjpls: HE LITERALLY SAID
HE SAW CATS HE USED TO
HUSTLE WITH IN THERE.

EXPECT nikkaS YOU
USED TO HUSTLE WITH
TO NOT SUPPORT YOUR
RESTAURANT ONCE YOU
PUBLICLY ANNOUNCE YOU OWN IT.

that's on the person to though, young can't control it, but I mean you would think some people know how to act with tact. It's not a street thing either, it's moreso how you are raised. Plenty of well to do people don't have manners or tact either.
There's a second half to that, which is more important: white people treat businesses different the minute they know it's black owned. Suddenly the dust in the side of a window means the entire business is dirty. Suddenly the service is bad because of a minor inconvenience.
damn never though of it like that, I think people forget how deep racism can get.

I don't get why people are upset with him telling the true story.

Majority of rap fans who purchase albums are white kids. Especially the type of drug dealer content themed records he was releasing back then.

So how was he shytting on his fanbase? He was shytting on the people who went to an eating establishment and acted like clowns. The type of clientele that nobody wants.

In that metro area, certain that he had upscale Black people dining there before the announcement. Post announcement just bought in a stream of immature people
exactly lmao I'm a "square" and I can listen to his music and act my age
