Sounds like she lost her marbles. Poor Jean. She was really dope 10 years ago and she might've blown up were she 10 years younger today and got with the right people. She can rap, sing, tell stories, play characters etc. Now she's singing Christmas music on Bandcamp

Jean Grae has had a few problems.

1. Her source of income should not just have been in rap.
Acting, business ventures in and out of entertainment like Queen Latifah.

2. she could've done more to use her sex appeal. Nicki Minaj, Foxy even Remy Ma have done so and so has Lauren Hill to a certain extent.
Even male rappers have to use it or use the image of wealth. I think she had a nice body that she hides to this day. But she could stand to get her body to where it needs to be and sex sells period. Also I think she could appeal to men and women of different cultures also because of her look.

4.Also like it or not, femcees have to be aligned with a male and/or male group. Lil Kim (BIG), Foxy (Nas the Firm, Jay Z), Lauren Hill ( Wycleff and Fugees) Queen Latifah (Treach Naughty By Nature cosign) Da Brat (JD,),Missy(Timbaland)

4. She needs to be have singing be a strong part of her game when it is needed like (Hill, Minaj, Queen )

all that might be valid, but the number one reason she's not poppin is that her music is weak as fukk. Why avoid the very obvious problem?

When you're in the underground and your music doesn't have mainstream appeal, you HAVE to make music that sticks to your fanbase. Borderline if not outright classic shyt.
