I see you're gonna play like you don't know what I mean, that's cool.

OK fine, I'm a "dumb" Jigga stan who's easily impressed by his rhymes... and a joint like the Dynasty Intro is lyrically on-par with his club-friendly, radio-friendly "I Just Wanna Love U" from the same album. But my blind stanism is making me think one is more lyrically adept than the other. Clearly, had the intro been the single, it would've been a huge cash cow for Jay all the same, with its dumbed-down content.

You got it, breh. U right. U the real MVP.

How about you explain to me how he "dumbed down" from the hardcore complexity of Aint No N1gga on the Nutty Professor soundtrack, sing along raps with Mary J Blige or hooks like Feelin It or this lyrical masterpiece featuring the gawd emcee Babyface Edmonds

:mjlol:

You acting like dude was releasing Liquid Swords type singles and THEN decided to simplify his formula.. His singles have always been bubble gum from the jump...

Little known fact..

When Jay-Z said "Serve like Sampras" he was actually talking about a tennis player named Pete Sampras and the term "serve" is actually one that's used in tennis circles that n1ggas from the hood ain't really up on...

:ohhh:

:mindblown:

To add another layer to this.. Serve is also a term that some people in the ghetto use as slang for selling drugs...

I'm not actin' anything like that, you took from that what you wanted to take from it... because us tin-foil hat wearing Jay-Z listeners are "brainwashed" by him, right...

Sunshine was the first clearly obvious Jay-Z radio record. I don't think that's a secret, in fact it was obvious even to us dumb-dumb "Jigga fans" that he was tryin' WAY too hard with certain songs on that album. But I guess everything on that album sounds like that... "Where I'm From", "Streets Is Watchin", "Must Love Me"... clearly in the same realm of that silly-ass single lyric-wise, right.

Ain't No nikka? You mean the b-side of the single "Dead Presidents"... the song that sticks out from the rest of Reasonable Doubt to a point where most people (for some silly reason) can't understand why it's on the album... that song? Yeah, I guess I can see what you mean... it's basically "Can I Live" and "D'evils" with a faster beat.

You're actually sayin' exactly what my point was, but clownin' at the same time you're sayin' the exact same shyt. Ain't nobody said he was making "Liquid Swords" type singles before... what I said is he always goes in a lot more on the album cuts than he does on the singles. Did I not say that?

:mjlol: indeed.

:ohhh: But "serve" can also mean serving rappers in a battle or serving "fiends" (drug customers) by selling them drugs...

Another triple entendre by the GOAT :banderas:

Man chill I'm just fukkin with you.. I'm just playin hip hop elitist... I'm not really one in real life..You like what you like.. I'm not accusing you of being "brainwashed"..It's just not that deep or complex to me personally...Jay has jewels, the Enis line just wasn't one of them in my opinion...

I don't know you to be an unreasonable or irrational guy on here...I'm not trying to lump you into a group with some of these other clowns...

It's wild how Jay Hova subconsciously uses the word fiend in this context..The word fiend broken down has 5 Letters..

You know what else has 5 letters?

Nah man... you were tryin' to hit me with the "ohhhh... so Jay said he dumbed down lyrics but you think this shyt was ill? Ohhhh, you must not be that smart" angle... so I said be clear- Jay made lots of lyrically ill records before and after he sold a bunch of albums. Damn near NONE of those are the ones he utilized as singles to push the albums. First album, he was doin' shyt like having "Dead Presidents" as a single. Once he saw "Dead Presidents" as a single doesn't work like an "Ain't No nikka" does, he kept all the "Dead Presidents" type shyt as b-sides and album cuts. shyt where he goes in more, that's all I was sayin'. I didn't say the Ennis shyt was unfathomable, but it's definitely not some plain-as-day line that everyone just picked up from the jump. I'm not a nikka that read Decoded and was :mindblown: it was dope to see the lines put in that context tho- cause let's be real, a lotta nikkas don't listen. They hear shyt but they don't always listen. There's certain people you can have those "yo but check what he said" convos with, and some you'll never be able to.
