Adidas and Under Armour went through the same thing. Under Armour still has a ways to go but then Stephs were hot for a minute before they came out with them Stephs that looked like diabetic shoes. And Adidas couldn't make a decent show to save their lives prior to boost. Worst thing is, they don't even own the patent for boost and Puma had a partnership with BASF to use it but now has something really similar to use in their shoes now. So worst case scenario is they take the adidas route, hire some high profile designers and make a good ass show that people wear on and off court. I can see that happening because they're doing exactly what adidas did to become popular in the US. They even had that Bape and FUBU collab that was hot recently too.

Difference is UA has very little history. Puma has been in the industry for decades with some classic looks and shoes to fall back on.

except people do wear under armour shoes, they may not be big in the lifestyle department but they do sell. don't think the urban market is the only market, they're obviously going after a different demographic. the curry 3s hurt them and they still had I want to say 4 billion dollars in sales. they missed their own forecast but had their best sales year ever which tells you that somebody buys their shoes even if it's little white kids. but the whole point is this, Puma is bigger than they are so the only real loser in this scenario will be under armour because Puma has the money and resources to effectively squeeze them out. they're all fighting for 3rd place anyway. Adidas and Nike aren't going anywhere for now, and it wasn't that long ago that Reebok was in Adidas place in the basketball department before Adidas bought them and basically forced them to become a fitness company.
