could have something to do with the thread title saying Slave-Z isn't hip-hop

Yeah...don't mess with his camel.

I'm so upset guys tell me more :obamaword:. Sometimes I wonder if you falsely represent shyt for the sake of getting a response from me. I don't get why, I'm not that important of a HL poster. :manny:

@TrueEpic08 I see you quoted me, I'll get back to you. I haven't read that post yet.

in a sadistic way Jay-Z success should also be inspiring blacks and everyone else, however the microcosm of parts of culture is so closed off to stereotypes and "struggle".

Were some blacks are connected to "struggle" versus aspiring for more.

The aspiration should be creating more jobs...to do so gotta be successful...

Heaven on Earth
America is no longer afraid of hip hop and it is no longer the voice of Black struggle...It has totally assimilated into pop culture and the mainstream...It's not Jay Z's fault he's just the poster child...Like Andre stated in Hollywood Divorce the hood will just come up with something else new and fresh to replace it...The same thing happened to blues, jazz and rock....It was only a matter of time...

The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
Black liberation :aicmon:

That said, :pacspit: @ Jay supporting a project that displaced thousands of middle class families in his home borough

I wonder what he would have done had they said they needed to tear down Marcy Projects w/no displacement plan for folks within

I disagree that its on Jay to save anybody but at the same time :pacspit: for dude jumping on the wrong side of gentrification to chase a buck + brand clout

Yeah it's crazy how Jay chased all the poor people out of Park Slope and Prospect Heights.

Adults like @BarNone look up to him

:yeshrug:

On balance Jay is more of a positive influence than a negative, and everyone in Hip Hop and the vast majority of the people who like the culture know that. shyt, supposed "conscious" emcees give him more credit than I do.

:yeshrug:

As far as the Brooklyn project, we (me, Reb and others) had that discussion in the coliseum a few weeks ago. I'm not doing that all over again. But the promise was that there would be jobs made and middle-income housing built up amongst other things. To my knowledge those things haven't materialized. It's not my responsibility to defend everything he does. He looks like he's in the wrong there. :manny:
