I randomly ran it back in early December and still enjoyed it. I may be in the minority but I also appreciate the hell out of his appearances on the Jay Electronica album. I love listening to it while I do class work or drive around by myself.

Hov out rapped Jay Elect on that album. I mean on EVERY SINGLE fukkING VERSE. He proved he’s still elite of the elite.

His energy gave the album a great balance. It’s wild how differently we might have digested the album with even a slight change like him not kicking off “ghost of Soulja slim”. I feel he set the tone and kept the momentum going and allowed Jay Electronica to be himself at his own pace.

I wonder to this day

Did jay-z tell Electronica hey I will be on your album if that will help you overcome your fear

Or did Electronica ask jay-z could he be on the album to over come his fear

There’s footage of Jay-Z from like 2014 telling Jay Elect to put the album out. I think it was Jay Elect who was scared and Hov did him the solid.

I think the title track might be Jay most gut wrenching self exposing, self reflection track. Brutality honest to point I get cringe. Like damn bruh lol. I got this on CD with the bonus tracks might have to catch the vinyl if available. I still think Jay was more impressive on The Carters album.

Played this back last week and its still as good as ever. Man its been a minute since we got a Hov album. As competitive as he is you would hope Nas' run has him inspired in some way.
