Heads are incapable of not being a prisoner of the moment. Let the album breathe.
The irony is that it seems like you same cats making comments like this are the same ones who use the "nobody was calling it a classic when it first came out" talking point to discredit reasonable doubt. The haters will always police opinions they deem too positive.

You know the funny thing about this album is it is unapologetically not for white people. Like I couldn't see myself as a white person liking this album, a few tracks here and there but over all. :ld:

If this album doesn't do numbers and pushed and supported by us as a people then....man nothing will. The album is real on many different levels and speaks to a generation of black men and women.

Unless you're a outright racist cac blind to society I don't see how it should turn a white person off

It's not like he's saying fukk all white people on it he's saying black people need to stick together and build up their own

Nas has plenty of cac fans and his music is a lot more "militant" and anti white culture then Jay

White people hate anything they can't relate too, and even more so when its blatant and has any angst toward them. It doesn't make them all racist imo. But that's white privilege at work:manny:

And its also more of a :picard: I thought Jay was "safe" kind of reaction. Just like with Beyonce, once they realized...wait he's black and proud. They get all:patrice:

Finally had a few full listens..this is a solid 4.5/5. Probably his most personal and honest album..kinda like Pacs MATW. Light years ahead of Magna Trash album..makes you wonder why he dropped that garbage.

Salute Jay !

Because samsung cut that check

I gotta dig into it more. But my early impression is that this is a smart & emotionally honest album, but Jay is just no where near the emcee he used to be. The element of being an impressive emcee is missing from this project. I still think it's a good project, but definitely not a top 3 Jay album. The production is also not near his best work. He's dropping good game though, he's just not what he used to be.

"Y'all think it's bougie, I'm like, it's fine
But I'm tryin' to give you a million dollars worth of game for $9.99"

1. That's the line on the surface level...

2. Most albums be costing $10 and Jay saying he's giving you a million dollars worth of game on this album. In the words of J Cole "An album cost $10 you act like it cost 10gs".

3. A million dollars is basically $999,000

4."Y'all think it's bougie, I'm like, it's fine
But I'm tryin' to give you a million dollars worth of game for $9.99" - The word fine has a double meaning here too. He basically saying the fine (the fee) for this amount of game he's giving is a million dollars but he's giving you a discount price of $9.99. This obviously ties into #2 up above.

Hov be on some other shyt :picard:
