If it was up to me, Id build a great team first - and the Lions are very close to having an amazing roster - and then would draft a younger cheap QB who is mobile.

I get that you could completely bomb it and draft a failure, and I'm a Cal guy who always rooted for Jared...but I dont think you can be completely immobile in todays game as a QB.

The way Goff struggles outdoors/in cold weather is a bigger hindrance imo, and that's less of a factor playing for Detroit. Guaranteed to have 9-10 games in a dome every season.

Goff's reached one SB and was a few plays away from reaching his second last season, as long as you build a strong OL and supply him with weapons the lack of mobility and improvisation when plays break down won't kill your offense.

plus what is the replacement cost for a conference title game level QB? It is as much or more. The lions cant draft a quality QB any time soon hopefully, and we can't wait for one to develop...it is the right decision.
