:patrice:Given how thin the roster is currently and how popular Hiromu is maybe they would actually let him win the G1 this year especially given the fact that there was no Best of the Super Juniors this year

Only way that happens is if he loses the Jr. belt and being in the G-1 is his "graduation" to heavyweight.

I'm not agaisnt the move by the way, just calling it how it has always been in New Japan, simce it's creation :hubie:

And kinda unrelated but it would also be unprecedented for Gedo to have two major pushes and shocking resultas in such a short amonut of time.

Given the circumstances this might be the only time to have a Junior win the G1. And Hiromu right now is possibly the best talent they got.

But we don't know the circumstances yet. Though Hiromu wiinning as Jr champ is not a leap I see happening under any realistic scenario, considering the roster New Japan has.

I could maaaybe see Gedo "graduating" Hiromu to heavyweight to give him a huge push if there's a small roster with New Japan talent only and (for some reason) Okada, Naito or Ibushi weren't options to winning the tourney. But those are A LOT of what ifs scenarios to get to a Takahashi W. And we still have no clue what's gonna be the scenario for the G-1.

If White and Ospray return, for example, those are more hurdles an Hiromu W would have to pass (Ospray being a good example of the company waiting for him to graduate to heavy to give him a different role in the promotion). And let's not forget that New Japan can just make a call and book basically any Japanese talent from another company that they want to boost interest in the tourney, if needed. For example. book Miyahara. who doesn't have the Triple Crown anymore so he could be used to put Okada over a big star outsider in the Finals.

I feel like everything is still going according to plan except for switching Evil in. Despite the smaller roster, the only people really missing from the title plans are Kenta, Jay and maybe he had plans for the Guerillas to pick up another tag reign.

Sekimoto in the G1 :wow:

After waiting a decade for it to happen I've lost all hope of that :mjcry:

I've had to settle with Daisuke getting a match with Shota to really show him how it's done before anyone else (gonna be such a cool match in retrospect in a couple of years :wow:) and Tanahashi giving him respect by letting Sekimoto get his shyt in against him last year at the Giant Baba Memorial Show.
