I feel like everything is still going according to plan except for switching Evil in. Despite the smaller roster, the only people really missing from the title plans are Kenta, Jay and maybe he had plans for the Guerillas to pick up another tag reign.
:francis: The Guerillas don't need another tag title reign, New Japan need more tag teams which is why I'm cool with Taichi/Sabre holding the belts for a while

Report: Reason Behind EVIL’s Title Win At NJPW Dominion 2020 Revealed

Not from Bully:whoa::whoa:

Bullet Club’s new big star has been the talk of the wrestling world since his shocking defection from LIJ and subsequent defeat of Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships at Dominion on July 12.

While many assumed it was panic booking due to several stars being stranded overseas during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, reports state that this isn’t true.

According to Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, plans have always been in place to make EVIL a top star in 2020, with the 33-year-old’s push being discussed “months ago”.

Alongside EVIL, the addition of former Kai En Tai and bWo Japan member dikk Togo to Bullet Club can be attributed to NJPW head booker Gedo wanting to freshen up Bullet Club and give it a renewed push, in part due to BC stars such as Jay White and KENTA being unable to travel to Japan at the current time.

The same can also be said for long time BC member Yujiro Takahashi, with the Tokyo Pimp receiving a big push for a program with Kazuchika Okada, in a further attempt to rebuild Bullet Club into the force it once was.

Would it not make sense for New Japan to link up with some other Japanese promotions with their roster being thinner than usual?

Could help the smaller promotions who are struggling as well.

This is a great idea in theory, until Gedo pulls rank and tells all the other companies that they have to make Yoshi Hashi and Master Wato look strong :ufdup:

It would make a ton of sense, specially because other promotions not only are in need of exposure, they have an even lighter schedules than what they usually have. Only thing that would work against it is New Japan wanting to save money. Not that it would be too expensive to book talent from other Japanese promotions but I could see NJ going "eh, we don't need them :manny:"

I mean, that's how King of Sports works.

You work with another promotion, you make New Japan look good, then you end the relationship :wow:
