In other news, Hama and Nakanoue won the Saikyou Tag League and became the new Big Japan Tag champs, they beat Okami in Korakuen. The show barely did 1k but it's the best attendance since the June show with Takeda/Kodaka (and Nomura/Suzuki).

It seems they also ran an angle were Takeda dominated Suzuki. There was a special tag match putting the two champs against each other, apparently shyt went out of hand which led to a no contest. Once it got re-started Takeda made Hideki tap in less than a minute.

RYOGOKUTAN is in two weeks. I hope they can get 4k :mjcry:

Hot take: if we saw NJPW as often as we watch WWE (14 Ppvs, 3 hour raw, smackdown, nxt, 205 etc), NJPW would be seen in the same, if not a worse light. Top to bottom WWE has a better roster.

I think that's more a reflection that it's not really possible to create a coherent, good wrestling product with so many shows as the WWE do.

NXT is probably the highest quality thing WWE do, and they only have one hour long show a week, and a few Takeovers a year. Less is more.

But I get it, financially it makes sense to run their product into the ground. But it has a detrimental effect on the product.

Even a 2 hour weekly NJ TV show would be too much, imo. Not even counting 3 hour weekly shows, or a second show, or a third show, or a US only show, or or or. Just like...NJPW Smackdown would be death after a month. 2 hours of 6 man tags every week, with Kenny vs Omega going down 17 times in a row.

Has the American style schedule/format of TV been done on Japan on a regular basis? A weekly HUSTLE show could have been :ohhh:though.

NXT is their attempt to take a WWE approach to Japanese booking and match style. There is sizable proof that having to fill no less than five hours of TV per week (9-10 on PPV weeks) isn't the the best way to do it, and hasn't been for a very long time.

On another unrelated note, they need to keep Callis in fukking Canada. I'm not tryna hear this dude suck Omega's dikk and bust the same jokes he's had on deck since 1999 through an entire New Japan show. They need to quit fukking around and cut the check for Rocky Romero to do that shyt full time and keep helping out on the dojo.

I've never bothered with the english commentary, it really isn't needed at all for a product like New Japan. Not sure why people get so caught up on who is doing it. The alternative of hyped up japanese people is right there and you won't miss anything that you wouldn't be able to catch on social media or just by talking to people :manny:

That match sounds fire, tho.

Mirror match :krs:
