Japanese games VS Western games

I'll go with JP. They are better with thinking outside the box with their stories and combat. There are some great western games but they are lacking in the combat department. The game y'all love to play, the witcher 3, has mediocre combat. If that portion got outsourced, it would be probably in the range of Dragon's Dogma.

The only genre where western games might have the edge are shooters, sports and online games.
Other than that these Japanese nikkas got the industry in a chokehold
For a long time, any football fan would have said Japan had the football game on lock. But Seabass and them Konami boys fukked it all up

Actually low key we are both wrong.
I think Fortnite has made more money than LoL and Minecraft.
Fortnite was 2019's top-grossing game, despite 25% revenue dip
Here's the kicker...the shyts not even out in China yet. Yeah the west took the crown this decade for sure.

Japanese games tend to excell in charm, nostalgia, and atmosphere. They can be very repetitive and generic, especially characterization.
Western Games emphasize that freedom, sandbox appeal. Sometimes the grit, grim-dark does not alway equal realistic. I think Westerners excel in Adventure and shooters.
Gonna give it to Japs.

I just got done playing DBZ: Kakarot. There is no way that western games are seeing Japanese games. I thin western developers are too shook to think outside the box

West got it in lock. Japs can hold the crown for melee action games tho.
