I never said record sales (because clearly it includes singles which I noted was the only category Rihanna leads Beyonce in).

Beyonce's albums, shows (that recent Coachella perorformance alone broke records), and tours are bigger than Rihanna's, which only leaves singles.
But you said Rih sales includes singles. That’s not true. Record sales are all inclusive but that’s for ALL artist. Album sales are album sales, see what I posted above.

Not quite. Album wise since IASF/GGGB Bey and Rih have been neck and neck. Considering Bey dropped on 03, she should have left Rih in the dust.
GGGB outsold IASF. Rated R, Loud and TTT outsold 4 individually. Beyonce outsold Unapologetic. Lemonade outsold ANTI. But those margins are small. Rih has outcharted Bey as well.
ETA: These are album sales only.

:what:

Considering Beyonce started in 2003, she has left Rihanna in the dust album sales wise when you count Dangerously In Love, which did like 4 million in the states and over 10 million worldwide. Then there's B Day, which did like 3 million in the states and 8 million worldwide. That's with Rihanna releasing more albums.

I don't. Know what you're reading, but Good Girl Gone Bad/I Am Sasha Fierce and Loud/4 are where Rihanna was ahead of Beyonce. Considering Beyonce is an aging artist in the Pop field and Rihanna is still in her 20's, she should be leaving Beyonce in the dust especially now. Beyonce's most recent work albums are clearly outselling Rihanna's most recent.

The 230 million records that Rihanna has sold includes singles. If you just counted her worldwide total for albums alone, it would be a fraction of that figure. Whereas if you took Beyonce's single sales, her numbers would not decrease nearly as much because Beyonce's singles aren't nearly as huge, but her albums are huge sellers.

Not quite. Bey was releasing albums between 03-06 when people were still going diamond+. Usher released confessions in 04.
Bey should’ve sold much much more.

They’re 600k apart in pure album sales give or take. That’s crazy since Bey has been bigger for far longer.

Bey is a pretty big single seller. Rih just sales more singles.
I like both. They’re closer in certain areas than most people think. I thought it was interesting when I seen these figures posted elsewhere.

I will look for Rihanna's, but according the article below, Beyonce has sold 60 million albums (not including singles or Destiny's Child albums). The information below is bases on reports from Neilsen Soundscan:

https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_58288b10e4b02b1f5257a471

And while Beyonce has been around longer, Rihanna has released more albums in a shorter period of time.

You can't compare Beyonce and Usher. Confessions was an anomaly. One could argue that both Beyonce and Rhianna should be selling a lot more considering Adele manages to go diamond twice in the same decade that Beyonce and Rihanna were dominant. There's all kinds of things that factor into that, which have nothing to do with Beyonce or Rihanna.

I wonder when Janet’s next album is dropping? That’s more important to me.

And it’s funny when ppl act like Rihanna isn’t a big album seller.

Billboard has Rihanna above Beyoncé on their Billboard 200 all time list, which is the album chart.

It’s clearly closer than ppl want to admit.

I actually think they should be selling more. Especially Rih. Adele is AC, which is a huge seller.

I'm just curious, looking at those numbers. Was Anti considered a failure? Or are the low sales due to the Tidal thing. Then again Lemonade dealt with Tidal fukkery too.

I don’t know if it’d be considered a failure. It spent over a year in the top 10, and had the biggest song of the entire year...more than what can be said of Lemonade.
