I thought this was fire. Even though he was emotional I feel like he did a pretty good job with balancing the jokes and the moments it got serious. You can tell he went through hell during those times and it’s amazing how he recovered like he did because there was a strong chance he wouldn’t have been here to perform this. When he brought his daughter up on stage

:mjcry:

You can tell she loves her father very much and Jamie must be a great father. Definitely one of the best specials I’ve seen in a minute. It’s crazy because Foxx is equally great at comedy, singing and acting he is super talented.

This was absolutely incredible.

It says he wrote it, which is double incredible bc comedians (Eddie Murphy , Kevin Hart etc) don't write their own specials without a team of writers.

If he did this by himself considering where he was just a year ago, that's flat out incredible. And to go and command a stage after not really doing standup for years is amazing

Terrell TX standup!
Jamie Foxx has been working on his craft for years, and it shows. He’s been on stage recently, getting back into his groove and getting in shape for this special, and it sucks that he had to go through hell for it to come out but it was worth the wait.

This special is a full-on performance. It’s not just stand-up; it’s storytelling, music, and charisma all wrapped into one. Jamie knows how to command a stage, and you can feel the energy in every bit. For me, this is a solid 5-star performance.

And this is exactly why I’m so critical of the average comedian these days. After watching someone like Jamie Foxx put on a show like this, I just can’t vibe with the guys who have nothing to offer but surface-level jokes or recycled material. Jamie sets the bar so high that it’s hard to go back to anything less than greatness.

This is what comedy and performance should look like.

No he didn't. He didn't write RAW or Delirious

Kennan Ivory Wayans wrote portions of one of those. Taking nothing away from Eddie, but he had writers. It's not exactly hidden knowledge.

Just like Paul Mooney wrote for Richard Pryor.

Keenan said he and Robert Townsend wrote a skit for the specials. That’s they are credited for. Eddie did that to put them on.

I don’t like how Netflix introduced its “onion cutting” feature for this special. I wasn’t expecting to get watery eyes. :birdman:
Look at this crying ass nikka y'all:umad:

Imma be a mess. Been a Jamie fan since before The Jamie Foxx Show:mjcry:

Btw, what happened to nikkas just naming shows after themselves? Though I won't front like I would have ran to watch Atlanta if it was called The Donald Glover Show, but y'all know what I mean:comeon:
