The problem with your argument is that whether you like it or not. there will always be people who you consider mediocre. That doesn't change them needing to eat or needing shelter.

basically lol, if thats what he considers mediocre, most of society is mediocre....so fukk em? lol

well according to you, they do. im just asking how you would force them :yeshrug: doesnt seem like a hard question for someone who's clearly firmly entrenched in a belief

i dont even disagree with you, someone could put jamie dimon in a guillotine tomorrow and i'd laugh about it. but back in the real world, this grandstanding politician needs to address the cost of living or force his company to pay X amount because you think his company makes too much money. im just not impressed :wow:
A politician is holding a corporation accountable and drawing attention to real world problem. Her statement was researched, fact based, and shined a light on the disregard of the 1% on their workers.

This is how lawmakers build a coalition to pass laws to hold companies accountable. If you're opposed to a federally mandated minimum wage Dimon's response isn't helping your case.

Why are the heads of private companies being held responsible for this?

Citizens need to hold their elected officials responsible when they're not acting in their best interest.

That representative should be the one in the hot seat explaining why that single mother can't make ends meet.
agreed

but at the same time you are a piece of shyt ceo if you take a 35 mil salary yet pay those at the bottom the bare minimum

:patrice:I wonder why we never hear talk of lowering taxes in-conjunction with raising wages...
Society is footing the bill to subsidize these low wages... so if we raise the wages...:patrice:
Maybe offering large corporations a tax break based on the wages at the bottom...:patrice:

:hubie:I'm just thinking out loud here.

You complain about 15hr minimum wage everytime it's brought up. :beli:
i dont think so :ehh: i think it should be phased in a dollar a year, but i have no problem with bumping it. but i think 12 nationally, and more being left up to the states is a good idea

now this is usually the part where you guys dig up some old post of me saying "minimum wage :scusthov:" :laff:

I really hate to be the one saying this, but how is this on the CEO, when a single mother of a 6 year old, with $1,600 rent, accepts an entry level position paying $2,400 a month that's open to high school graduates?

I'd put this on the legislators to put in place social safety nets that would help folks in this type of situation. If it means taxing folks like Dimon, and their corporations an exorbitant amount(and ensuring they pay it) then so be it :yeshrug:

They can't get the social safety net to pass because the banks pay politicians to vote no, so....
