It's called the minimum wage. It's the least you have to pay. JP Morgan can afford to pay higher than the minimum wage and still be profitable. So yeah, there's a distinction between JPM and small businesses.

I think the overall point of the conversation was to shed light on this woman's situation holistically, all of the factors of sh*tty paying jobs, inflated housing/rental costs, and a ever growing cost of living makes living in this country in MOST places difficult for the average citizen.
