Rent is expensive in Irvine, CA clearly. She's raising a kid. There are considerations to be made under those circumstances.

It's called the minimum wage. It's the least you have to pay. JP Morgan can afford to pay higher than the minimum wage and still be profitable. So yeah, there's a distinction between JPM and small businesses.

i would support a law that said if a company makes X amount of money, banks, walmart, etc, then they have to pay a minimum wage of X

the reason this exchange was stupid is because this employee could leave JP morgan, go work at a small business, and still have the same problems. but this idiot isn't dragging small business owners in front of committees asking them how their employees would make it on 16 an hour
Because if fortune 100 companies are not paying their employees a living wage then it's safe to assume small businesses aren't either. :camumm:

should this politician have dragged my boss in front of a committee and asked him how i made ends meet :mjlol:
