At least they achieved their goal of generating a buzz I suppose. I keep thinking about this damn movie. My major issue was the tone... the 80s "homages" throughout, matrix fights, gore horror, plus goofiness. If the director played up the satirical nature of some stuff, then sure but he ran this thing straight !
I was skeptical from the beginning, while my GF was jumping at every jump scare. I pieced most of it together by the time the old photo was uncovered

I liked Malignant it was like James Wan smoked a lot of weed and then watched Basketcase, John Wick and a couple Giallo flicks that inspired him to make a mash-up of all of that stuff.
