Is it impacting lives? Sure, but from a academic standpoint, it's an L. Not much different then the public schools. If, you're a person that doesn't think standarized test mean much, then that's a different debate. But your SAT below a 1000 is basically preparing kids for community college. I work at one of the worst school in Detroit, and that's all we do. Get kids ready for the community college, not the university.

@valet , if you don't mind, what are the numbers for the school you work at?

Jalen's school is not a Magnet, so they are drawing students from the same pool as the regular high schools.
Retention and graduation numbers are higher, but the freshman class enters having attended the same k-8 as freshmen at the other high schools.

At the Rose Academy, they are in an environment that fosters development and with fewer distractions.

I dont know our profiency numbers this year (we got a new principal) But only 24% of seniors are on track to graduate. 30% of juniors. 34% of sophomore.

What I mean is only 24% of seniors will graduate on time without doing credit recovery. And etc. with the other classes.
