I don't follow High School enough to know where Cade was ranked. And like I said, I know Cade will be nice. But I think Jalens ability to score is more valuable and would work for Detroit as a sports town.

We have never had a dominant scorer in the teams history. Our only scoring title the Pistons have was Stackhouse the lockout season.

I want to cheer for a great scorer on my hometown team for once in my lifetime :mjcry:
How dominant are we talking here?? Y’all had a young Isiah. Y’all definitely had Adrian Dantley.

Prime Dantley would've been the best scorer in Pistons history by far. He put up 30 a night four straight years in Utah. By the time he was in Detroit, he was still cold but he was already in his 30s where that was when players started to decline back then

I completely forgot that his big scoring years were in Utah, my bad. Yeah then you’re right, that Stackhouse year was it. Y’all got Iverson too but that was also just fukkery and a dude past his prime.

So if Cade comes out and outplays Green on Tuesday y’all keeping the same energy right? :usure:

I don’t put much merit into summer league stats etc. I like both of these guys and think both will become all timers.
I’m almost willing to bet Jalen scores no less than 30 against the Pistons. He has that game circled, highlighted, stamped, and emphasized. I think he’s gonna try to embarrass the Pistons. Cade’s gonna have to come out with that same mentality

Also, we need to talk about the gleague coaching and development that benefited Green heavily.
Give this man Jarret Jack his flowers because he transformed Green into a solid defender.

The tape said last year he was solid on ball in iso but struggled with screens and off ball rotations.

We saw improvements in both already.

Along with the possession where Mobley had him in the post and he held his own.

It’s notable that Jarrett Jack was his starting point guard last year and is now an assistant coach for the Suns. Green used to take a lot of chances and try to play the lanes too often. Jack told him to slow down and just standing firm most of the time. Don't take yourself out of position and make things easy for the opponents

The g league experience and coaching has him steps ahead in his development already.

Yup
The NBA was smart with their ignite team, placing young guys with wily old vets

The irony is The narrative is go to college and the longer you stay the more fundamentally sound you’ll be, but Green gain more fundamental coaching from actual coaches who were in the nba, professionally, and looks more polished than anybody I’ve seen in the coming out of college this year besides Grimes…
