A lot of them do. These dudes are taking stimulants and supplements constantly to keep up with the rigors of the job.

The amount of Red Bulls,C4,Prime,Monsters I see these young athletes drink plus the supplements it's bad news once you've been drinking that stuff for nearly 20 years.

let me add tho that HBP is like...not brushing your teeth.

Dont brush your teeth once? NBD.

Dont brush your teeth for a week? Nasty :hhh: But overall not gonna significantly damage your periodontal health.

Dont brush your teeth for a year? Youre probably encroaching toward significant risk factors.

Replace "Dont brush your teeth" with have a HBP reading and same principle applies.

HBP also isnt the total story. Ensure that youre A1c, triglycerides, HDL/LDL and lipids are being monitored as well. At least once a year.

I took a 20 hour gun training course two weeks ago, there were 25 of us, half of which were under 30. Every single one of them lived on energy drinks. It was crazy to see how they were putting them down, and only 1 or 2 drank water.

There's also the fact that some people can be in shape and still have high blood pressure :yeshrug:

That was a study of people who were young (20s) and currently active and a lot still had hypertension.

Diet and exercise are important, but some people are just prone to BP problems regardless.

Breh that's literally me... I'm a gym rat, eat decent, cardio everyday.. run outdoor 5 miles once a week and my BP still borderline high

I'm :flabbynsick: tho... plus black, plus family history... so there's that

People think I be working out for looks and strength and to attract bytches... No mf I literally have to do this shyt :comeon:

But if it keeps me looking great I'll take that too

thats NOT normal for black people

I timestamped (listen for at least 3 minutes) where this doctor starts talking about how it blood pressure is different for different ethnicities and races
He specifically points out how 140/90 can be dangerous for black folks

there is a lot of misinfo on this subject (im reading it in this thread)....
High blood pressure doesnt just run in your family...
its about the food youre eating.

Black people need to learn that the traditional western diet is not good for a lot of us

I had to learn about all this a couple years ago when I found out my blood pressure was high...
im not fat and workout at least 4 days a week.

The issue was the carbs I was eating...
once I stopped eating bread/carbs every meal my BP dropped FAST

im now consistently under 120

Calm down doctor, all can be true , blood pressure to some is a genetic thing, has nothing to do with a lifestyle , some it does, it’s that simple bro

i do a lot of walking ...my average is 11K per day this year.

I hit the gym 3-5 times a week and I notice after the gym my BP goes down to like 125/75
Family history of hypertension? 140 is elevated, but not too terrible. I’ve had patients start meditating and have had better results on follow up visits. The amount of stressors that normal people experience is astounding and is leading to a lot of premature deaths.

i dont know...maybe i dont rest long enough before doing the test
i took it again today after a minute...first one was around 140/90
Second one a minute later was around 125/75

so maybe it just comes down to that

sometimes, it’s genetic, but high blood pressure is usually due to poor diet.

we need to be more mindful of what we’re eating.

i might consume takeout ONCE per year, but that’s it. the amount of sodium they put in these dishes is deadly.

also, brehs don’t drink enough water, which has been proven to lower and stabilize blood pressure.

i drink almost a gallon a day.

People want to "feel good"

I'm close to a doctor and she was telling me about her time at a clinic in Alabama. Little town with a pig farm. She said it's crazy how many black patients she had Who's BP was thru the roof plus overweight and she would make suggestions about their diet and they straight up tell her "I AM NOT giving up bacon, sausage, pork chops"

The might as well die happy mentality

I take dragon fruit in my smoothie everyday with fiber and protein supplements. So far no issues.

he literally says what youre saying isnt the case.

You can eat "healthy" but that food can not be unhealthy for YOU...
thats the point.

they say its genetic because they dont take into account how race/ethnicity effects how you respond to food...
we live in a white country but somehow only minorities are predisposed to high BP
You dont find that odd?

most black people are not good on a traditional western diet

Some parts of Africa they eat nothing but meat...
others are vegetarian...
your genetic makeup effects how you respond to certain foods
