Anyone who actually watched MJ knows this is obviously true. He was never good on fast guards, especially fast guards who could shoot.
On 87-88 Jordan? Who won DPOY and averaged 35ppg? I don't even think he getting a move off
That's not the kind of defender MJ was at all. He didn't lock guys down like that, he was super disruptive using his athleticism to gamble for steals and blocks. Which was extremely effective in disrupting the other team's offense but players could get theirs on him too. When Phil came in to coach he actually got on him to stop gambling more and play disciplined defense instead.
I mean look what the Cavs' starting guards did against the Bulls in the 1988 playoffs:
Mark Price - 21-4-8 on 57% from the field and 41% from 3pt (Price was a 2nd-year player who averaged just 16ppg in the regular season)
Ron Harper - 18-5-4 on 48% from the field (Harper was a 2nd-year player who averaged 15ppg in the regular season)
If MJ couldn't lock down an inexperienced Mark Price or Ron Harper in 1988, how the fukk was he going to lock down Ja Morant?
