:gucci: Aren’t we talking about j prince old ass saying some shyt in public, why should she keep it private when they clearly talking shyt on social media
it applies to J too.

I can give him a partial pass because sometimes his old timer bully boy tough talk has pressed people into being a bytch (Kanye)

Megan seems to be on some 'i dont care what the internet says' shyt...... while she's typing online messages. FOH

"The rapper hired Roc Nation as her management firm in September 2019 and the filing alleges this action irked 1501 Entertainment. In the amended complaint, the rapper says Roc Nation helped her understand the contract she signed was not in keeping with industry standards.

The contract has a 60/40 split of recording income in 1501 Entertainment’s favor. Payments to outside parties (producers, sound engineers) must come out of her 40%. The initial contract also gives 1501 Entertainment a 30% cut of her touring and merchandising profits."

Word. I didn't even know her history until Q-Tip started talking about it and went into what was going on with these dudes all trying to rob her now. Sh*t is crazy. But that's the music business for you.
Right. That’s why when people refer to Megan as a “plant”, I question if they actually watched her come up in real time or if they had never heard of her until WAP or whatever that song was she had with Nicki. She literally had a very natural rise.

I mean Erica Banks aint meghan but she on the rise, fyi if yall think that buss it song blew up organically and had all these celebs doing the buss it challenge without a little payola idk what to tell you.

Without a 1501 Erica Banks would be another thot rapper in a long line of thot rappers, having money in your corner can turn a song only your homies know into a hit record on the radio.

It can turn a broad who ceiling was the strip club into cardi b, just cuz someone not on Meg level dont mean nothing if your potential was open mic night but your now on the radio and getting interviews thats a major upgrade.
What hurt Erica Banks is that they legit started marketing her as “Megan’s replacement”, and that put off a lot of people who were supporting Meg and wanting to support Erica. They even had her trying to spark beef with Meg and talking mess about other women rappers, especially women rappers from Houston. 1501 (and Erica herself) basically turned her into the next Just Brittany, who no one gives a shyt about. I bet you didn’t even know Erica Banks released an album back in June of this year. That’s how cold in the streets she is.

if 1501 or whatever their name is have a legit contract on her to get what he feels she owe in court then why keep talking on the internet about it?

:dahell:

Like she said. Just win in court or shut the fk up.

I think she knows that a court case would not be a good look for 1501 if their contracts are as exploitative as she claims. You don't need that being exposed to the world.

I’m 1000% pro-artist but you can’t expect a record label to want to renegotiate after a project performs moderately well just because the artist is on the way to becoming a star. Yes, she is the one writing her songs but I’m sure she didn’t pay for the mixing/mastering, producers, photo shoots/videos and marketing. A label isn’t going to want to renegotiate when the artist hasn’t shown a track record of being profitable yet. It’s simple business.

Also, as someone that knows several artists with deals, if they really gave her a 40% profit sharing deal, that’s really good.

This isn’t to say they couldn’t be ripping her off. I’m assuming 1501 is a production deal with 300 as the record label so they could easily be withholding the true value of how much money she’s actually entitled to but she’s not gonna know that without an audit.
No it’s not. The take 60% gross i believe. Her 40 gotta pay for everything.

If that’s how they’ve structured it, then it’s not a profit sharing deal and they’re on some BS. If done properly, a profit sharing deal is really good if you know you can recoup as an artist.

What’s up with all these supposed gangstas talking so much. Man these old nikkas talk like hoes
What “gangsta” you know with morals or that follows codes or whatever? To be a gangsta, most times you gotta be into doing ignorant, hoe ass shyt to get ahead. That’s why I never understood why anybody looks up to these nikkas or think they’re “real”. Any “real nikka” or “gangsta” is more than likely the fakest people around…
