They are fighting to keep her from releasing projects and arguing that whatever she releases shouldn't count towards fulfilling her contract, courts said she can release projects and those projects do count so yes they are losing.

Courts are siding with her because the label probably don't have a good reason why these projects shouldn't be released.

If a major label rapper sells you a verse you cant use it commercially without getting it cleared by the label. signed artist cant just release whatever they want without the label input and approval. You have to come to an agreement with your label to release songs and albums.

In contract law both sides have to make a good faith effort to fullfill the terms of the contract. 1501 cant just say meg cant release any music while the lawsuit is active cause thats not a good faith effort. Thats what the judge ruled and why she was able to release some songs. However Meg has tried to freeze out Carl and 1501 and not work with her label at all on the projects she releases so thats why we are here with the back and forth lawsuits. legally Meg cant do that and needs to work with her label in good faith as well to get approval.

Now becase she is with roc nation she hasnt been impacted by legal cases cause roc nation can provide her everything she needs to deliver an album. The projects are "high quality" so in this case the label doesnt have to do much besides sit back and collect checks if they wanted to. Thats what roc nation wanted them to do but contractually 1501 doesn't have to. contractually they have a right to have input on her releases.

This whole situation started because 1501 wasn't involved in the management and marketing of her career, she didnt try to freeze carl out of anything, he just wasnt involved while she was going viral off internet memes until roc nation stepped in to manage her career. roc nation started marketing her correctly and money started rolling in, now carl acts like they stepped on his toes to steal his artist. You're acting like Megan was being difficult not wanting them involved in the process when the reality is that she had to go somewhere else because they weren't involved.

Then they didn't want to sign off on her projects, but were fine with her releasing singles and doing features because they could get paid without it going towards fulfilling her contract. That's why they're in court now and why the judge keeps siding with Megan. 1501 paid her 10k, mismanaged her career, and made millions off roc nation picking up the slack, they're not victims in this situation.

She blew up way before she signed to roc nation. Who was responsible for that if it wasn't 1501? Who got her a major distribution deal with 300 ent if not 1501? We wouldnt know who Meg was if not for 1501.

And just cause you dont like your label or feel they could be managing you better doesnt give you any right to not honor your contract.

Her whole problem with 1501 was that she was blowing up with no support from her label, even when she had hits they weren't doing anything with her. She blew up off viral instagram songs, 1501 were not pushing her music.

Thats not how the music industry works. You don't get on radio playlist and in rotation across the country without a label putting hundreds of thousands of dollars behind you. It just doesnt happen. And its all paid marketing including "going viral".

She wasn't all over the radio when she first started popping, and going viral on the internet is way different than paid marketing.

It's a shame to watch all of these dudes working so hard to eat off this chick's career.

First no one wanted to f*ck with her, when Q-Tip was out there trying to shop her to get a deal, when she was unknown. The minute she starts getting some buzz, all of these dudes are trying to throw their hands in her pockets. The business is so shady today. It's wild. Same dudes that strong-armed Drake out of his publishing too.

I’m glad at least there are some people that realize this

Word. I didn't even know her history until Q-Tip started talking about it and went into what was going on with these dudes all trying to rob her now. Sh*t is crazy. But that's the music business for you.

Why that millionaire ain’t made another Meg in that time? It’s more to it than just the money.
I mean Erica Banks aint meghan but she on the rise, fyi if yall think that buss it song blew up organically and had all these celebs doing the buss it challenge without a little payola idk what to tell you.

Without a 1501 Erica Banks would be another thot rapper in a long line of thot rappers, having money in your corner can turn a song only your homies know into a hit record on the radio.

It can turn a broad who ceiling was the strip club into cardi b, just cuz someone not on Meg level dont mean nothing if your potential was open mic night but your now on the radio and getting interviews thats a major upgrade.
