Lmao I thought akademiks and Drake were friends...
Aka just said kendrick's last 4 albums shyt on cole AND drake discographies (which is a given btw, since they're classics, but crazy to hear Akademiks admit it)
Ak be on some stan shyt with drake a lot but he’s not so far gone that he can’t sometimes be unbiased and call it how it is. This shows that. And to be fair nobody except Outkast can really play in kendrick's league when it comes to catalog

Exactly, Jay didnt lose bc of Takeover, it was actually a pretty good dis.

The difference is Nas came back with Ether and it was just on another level.

Jay underestimated Nas

Exactly.

Sony was talking about dropping Nas, and Stoute told Jay. So all of their personal sh*t rose to the surface and Jay thought that was a good time to finish him because Nas was looking like he was on life-support. "Takeover" was a great diss, but no one thought Nas would come back with something like "Ether". Even Nas said people close to him were surprised and thought it was out of character. But that's what made it so dope.

Jay was at the top at the time, so him getting hit like that was really good Hip Hop. And it showed that just getting in the booth and making dope sh*t can give the fans and your career life again. Aside from all the personal sh*t, "beef" like that is what brings greatness out of MC's, and why people can't forget about that situation. Hip Hop at the end of the day, is a competitive sport and culture. Everyone ain't built for it.
