It's a track that Cole believed in enough to put on the mixtape as the last one, and it was also the most played which helped drive discussion and sales. Removing the song is Cole trying to pretend that nobody's heard it, and it also hurts the value of the mixtape since most people went to that track before anything else.

And if Rory is telling the truth, Cole is still in touch with Kendrick enough to talk to him on the phone about "Like That." Pretty sure they agreed to take it further and Cole just backed out because he couldn't digest food for 48 hours.
