Great teams get stomped in the playoffs or lose to teams they shouldn’t during their great runs all the time.

The 1973 Steelers lost 14-33 to the raiders and the 1976 Steelers lost 7-24 to them too.

The 1985 49ers lost 3-17 to the giants. The 1986 49ers lost 3-49 to the giants. The 1987 squad lost 24-36 to an 8 win Vikings team. The 1992 and 1993 49ers lost 20-30 and 21-38 to Dallas.

The 2005 pats coming off back to back titles lost 13-27 to a Denver team quarterbacked by Jake Plummer with Brady throwing a 100 yard pick 6. A year later they blew a 21-3 lead in the afc title game. A year later the highest scoring team in league history scored just 14 points vs a 10-6 giants team and blew an undefeated season. In 2009 they lost 33-14 at home to a 9-7 ravens team with Greg Mattison and Cam Cameron as their coordinators while that team’s quarterback threw 10 passes for 34 yards with 1 pick and were down 24-0 in the first quarter. In 2010 they got their asses kicked at home by the jets. In 2011 the 3rd highest scoring team in the league at 32 per game scored just 17 in a Super Bowl loss to a 9-7 squad who got outscored during the season. In 2012 they got manhandled at home by a ravens team with half its roster fresh off the operating table and got shut out in the second half while turning it over 3 times and having a turnover on downs in the 2nd half.
Dallas never got stomped like this hence why we Americas team

I hate this way of thinking. Like it's somehow better to lose in the 1st round of the playoffs than to lose in the Superbowl.
People use this dumb logic with Jordan going 6-0 in the Finals all the time.
Can’t pick and choose when we wanna use and not wanna use it.. every qb gets the blame/praise don’t try to change the narrative now :russ:

I hate that too. Its lazy. Like the only person that matters on a football team is the Quarterback (and sometimes the coaches).
53 man roster with 11 on the field at a time for each team but people want to reduce it to one guy.

The 1999 rams with 4 (should be 5) hall of fame inductees on their offense won Super Bowl 34 because a guy named Mike jones stopped a guy a yard short of the tying score as the clock hit 0:00. They won the conference on the strength of their #4 receiver who hadn’t caught a touchdown all year grabs one in the closing minutes of the conference title game.

AFC title game featuring Manning, Brady, Reggie Wayne, Asante Samuel, Richard Seymour, Vince Wilfork, that one guy who went to Syracuse, Dwight Freeny, and Robert Mathis but a guy named Marlon Jackson makes the play to win the game for the colts.

A Super Bowl featuring Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Junior Seau, Wes Welker, Eli Manning, Plaxico Burress, Justin Tuck, and Michael Strahan to name a few is defined by a special teams receiver making an unreal catch.

Larry brown is named Super Bowl mvp on a team that features Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Jay Novacek, Darren Woodson, and Deion Sanders.

Jimmy Smith of all people while Haloti Ngata, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Terrell Suggs are out there makes arguably the most key play of Super Bowl 47’s final stand for the ravens by knocking the ball out of Michael Crabtree’s hands on 3rd down which forces the 49ers to throw from the 5 and in an obvious passing formation.

Those Pats teams were not great teams thats why they didn't make it to the Super Bowl. I'll give you the 3 Pats teams that lost in the SB but at least they didn't embarrass themselves like the Chiefs have done twice now. They looked like they didn't belong. Came out flat with no energy. The Packers and Rams gave the Eagles a more competitive game.

49ers..Braves..Celtics
And before someone has an issue with that statement, what I mean is... look what the 49ers did to the Broncos or the Chargers or the Dophins in those Super Bowls. The games weren't even a contest. They were a joke. The Cowboys obliterated the Bills in quick fashion.

The Chiefs haven't had dominating runs like that yet
