I appreciate all you cowards removing my rep points, but can't come in here and defend your trash ass series.
I had to study these films, so this shyt is fresh in my mind, this shyt is trash.

The first star wars, trash
not only are scenes lifted from other garbage movies, the pacing is terrible. it is the first movie with gay ass robot, the sword fight with vader and obi-wan was like two kids banging sticks together on the playground. Obi-Wan watching over Luke on tatootie doesn't make any sense, it engages by a chance act, and the messenger from the princess gets their by chance. If the r2d2 never got sold, Luke would've grew up never knowing anything, and Obi Wan would have lived out his years as hermit, while the galaxy was oppressed, some hero he is.

This is the power of FATE... its not just Star Wars its most movies ... it can not be explained because it was FATE and Destined to be as is ... And I must admit that fight with Ben and Vader looked like Asscheeks .

using that logic ... We in the U.S. should stop calling everybody President so and so once they leave office..

Once again your using logic outside of the films to explain the films, which is why these movies suck and the fans are blind dikk riders
she is referred to as a SENATOR episode 2 and 3.
Also Leia never knew her real mother, so she would not her mother was once a Queen. Also since when were Queen's elected and served terms
Her parents adoptive parents were not royalty

@Master Teacher ... let me ask you a question .... In films, TV shows, Books and etc... do you want everything spelled out for you and you just cant accept that things are as they are? or is being a little abstract at times ok ...

If you're watching a movie and there's a king so and so, do you want to know the geneology of how he became king?

The film or whatever should be self explanatory, doesn't have to be in your false, but the pieces should be there for you to put together.

You last example once again doesn't make any sense, because if there's a King in a movie, he's the King, we can see he's the King. But if they say this King is the son of the President, it will not make sense. Princess Leia only parent mentioned is a Senator, so it contradicts her being a princess.

Star Wars is non sense, things explode in space, there's no sound in space, no oxygen so a ship implodes it would flame out quickly not expand into a ball of fire.
I can go on and on, Star Wars is a poorly made kids movie that is outdated and should not be consider science fiction, but only fantasy

As for the Vader/Obi Wan duel - you had David Prowse (stuntman and by no means a swordsman) in a big hulking costume and a 63 year old Alec Guinness fighting. Sure, it doesn't look impressive now, but back then, it was fine. That is why for Empire and Jedi they got Bob Anderson to don the suit for the fighting scenes.

Yes, Alec hated Star Wars and made no bones about it. He's an acting treasure, but he could also be a stubborn a$$hole. Yes, he had other great performances that should be noted but if he thought about it, maybe people seeing his role as Obi Wan would influence them to see of his other great films. It did for me. The Bridge On the River Kwai is fantastic.

Last but not least, Lucas is quite open about all of the homages in his film and talks about where he got all of his influences from. Almost every director out there pays homage to their favorite movies or serials in some way. George just did it more than most. If he sat there and actually took credit for it all, then it would be a different story all together.

The only thing that sucked about the Star Wars prequels is that we found out Darth Vader was nothing more but a powerful emo lil bytch.

Once again I should have to read a character bio from a website to understand a movie
also it doesn't say he was King, so what makes her a princess. Her titled should be Lady Leia or something

You and the late Alec Guinness have two things in common: 1.) You both hate Star Wars and 2.) You're both stubborn as hell. :russ:

He's a member of the Royal family (if you need to have it spelled out for you, he was also Viceroy) and was the planet's representative in the Senate. Under Alderaan law, you can be both. Of course they're not going to spell that shyt out for you because it doesn't really matter to the story at all and adds nothing. You're a film studies student and should know this shyt. Are you going to complain about the fact that Tatooine has two suns yet there is no sun near it? "But but but I must know why and have it explained to me otherwise I'm giving this movie a 1 1/2 out of 5. :sadbron:" I've come to the conclusion that you're just looking for shyt to complain about because you particularly don't like these movies, which is cool and all, but as a film studies student, you should also know that film is subjective and you've come up with some piss poor arguments to state your case.

I'm done here.

Wait, no I'm not.

Where is this explained in the movies? Or even hinted at.

Bottom line is the bytch is a princess of nothing, the only bytch in the galaxy,
the force is pretty much a useless thing in the grand scheme of things, it only important because characters say its important, we never see it's significance or impact on anything
the story is trash, bottom line.

There's nothing creative about star wars. The Empire are Nazis, Jedi dress like samurais, spaceships fly like airplanes, every planet has only one type of terrain
and one type of civilization. The shyt is generic bullshyt that could fly on the 70's but in modern times this shyt is beyond garbage

:dahell: Watch him have a backstory and a role in like 2 or 3 of the books

There's a name and backstory for everybody. Remember the droid who blew up in Episode 4 that led to Owen buying R2? I remember reading some article where the droid was Force-sensitive, and knew that R2 had to make it to Obi-Wan, so it pretended to malfunction :shaq2:
