People not realizing that studios aren’t going to make this convenient for us.Nah not forgetting it. Just quoting the article. The studio says they’re going to lose money. And if Wonder Woman is losing money I can’t imagine the other two also very expensive movies are going to make money.
It’s not just money for the studio. They gotta recoup the costs around the board. Production, the marketing costs they already ate. Deals with sponsors and whoever is getting paid on the backend.
Studio exec talked to deadline and said Wonder Woman needs to make 40 percent more than tenet to turn a profit. And that’s just for that movie not an entire streaming service.
They need to make about 600 million to be in the black. they don’t think they’re going to get that many subs this month to see it. shyt maybe they will but they don’t think so
Nah that number shouldn’t change because of deals you make on the backend along with the money you already spent promoting the movie over the summer. And the money merchandising the flick which you’re still spending.Budget was 200 million. And that 600 million was theaters in the projections. Of course that's changed. By substantially reducing the split with theaters, the Max subs should help lower that number big time.
I agree. We’re not there yet tho. But it’s definitely coming. And the costs were paying for services will increase exponentially.People not realizing that studios aren’t going to make this convenient for us.
The accountants and money people will cut new deals with advertising or promotional tie ins geared towards people at home.
Imagine Super Bowl level advertising intermissions on HBOmax?

They still want it to make something in theaters. And if that projection changed they wouldn’t have went to press with it in one of the biggest industry pubs in Hollywood. That would be silly.
I hear you lol but they’re saying they won’t. That’s what I’m telling you. Idk what else to say man. If they’re saying they won’t do it then that’s kinda that in my mind. Miracles can happen sure but they’ve already chalked up the LI know they wanna get something in theaters no doubt.
OG Wonder Woman costs 149 million to make and made 820 at the box office. Ended up with 260 million profit. They only got 373 million out of the 820 made at the box office. Those box office theater cuts are MASSIVE. You normally get half of the domestic box office at peak and like 25% of foreign.
looking again at this shyt, I think they can potentially get close to breaking even.
Yeah, lose money on this shyt, albeit not as bad to recoup elsewhere.I hear you lol but they’re saying they won’t. That’s what I’m telling you. Idk what else to say man. Yeah it’s going to be a minute. Long minute. And then it’s about shifting to the new world.Yeah, lose money on this shyt, albeit not as bad to recoup elsewhere.
It's def a risky strategy but I think it will work over the long haul (and long haul is until theaters are close to being back at where they were. don't think they will for a couple of years IMO).

Studios and theaters need to figure out their symbiotic relationship going forward and adjust it. Going to suck for everyone involved. Us included
Yeah this easily positions them number one as far as streaming service content goes. And it’s not even close.Exclusive footage of HBgOat Max running past the competition.
