and now you attract more customers to AT&T.

*sees my stock price going up for T*

:scheme:
I'm coming around to AT&T being a shyt investment. Not selling my shares but not buying anymore. Go back to 1996 and the share price was in the high 20s in 2020 it's in the high 20s.

Again I hate to be right about this because I love going to the movies but the writing was on the wall years ago. People were in denial but sadly the pandemic accelerated it. WB is not going to lose millions on half capacity filled theaters in 2021. So now HBOmax has a Blockbuster dropping every 3 weeks, that's huge. This is the best option because as they saw with "Tenet", American Audiences haven't gone back to the theaters in mass since March. Box Office Numbers have been horrific. In the "Tenet" thread I said they should consider a duel release and I predicted it would do about 250+ but flop in the states if they released it. It did over 300 but again flopped in the States. Warner Bros is making a business decision long-term for the next year.

Could things change with a vaccine? Sure but more and more people have been moving away from theaters for years. Just as I said in my thread years ago, rising prices have been inflating the numbers. Attendance has been down overall for years. We are in a digital world now and theaters aren't exempt. It's not the 80's anymore or even the 90's. People have so many more way to access and get their entertainment. It's a much more individualized experience. If you love Marvel, you can literally have a fully marvel streaming service with Disney + (Which exploded with subs in a year). We didn't have that when we were kids. It's what ever they put on TV or whatever our Parents brought us. People have a little mini computer in their pockets that can literally watch anything on them including movies. In my Thread in 2013, I said by 2033 it was going to over for Theaters but my prediction stands. In 10 years theaters won't be as dominate and most people will have streaming services.

Like Direct TV or Cable before, people will have multiple streaming services. Soon they will packaged like Cable in the past. I think it's going to take a huge movie like "Avatar" or another "Star Wars" film before we even see those maga numbers again. When I was a kid in the 80's, I could never imagine a world where arcades weren't everywhere. Crazy how technology even hurt arcades. Why go to the arcade when you can play the games at Home right? Theaters have survived home Television, Home Video, Home Gaming and even the Internet at first. But the digital age is here and like Blockbuster video before. Theaters are next. They will still be here but again not as dominate. Wow @ "Matrix 4" straight to streaming? That's huge because that was a lock for a Billion at the box office before ish changed. See people waited too long we should actually be on "Matrix 6" by now. I know James is hot because he's been working on "Avatar" Sequels for over a decade just for the theater experience and now sh!t is looking shaky. I lived to see Naspter kill of CD's, DVD kill off Laser Disc and VHS, Netflix kill off Blockbuster. Now Streaming is coming for Theaters. It's inevitable.

Netflix doesn't have a market cap bigger than Disney.

Disney is $279 billion Netflix is $220 billion. Both are about at 52 week highs. When it comes to future prospects I would expect in 10 years Disney will be worth far more than Netflix. Disney even now in a pandemic that has depressed them has positive free cash flow. Netflix burns billions a quarter and is probably gonna reach saturation much sooner soon when it comes to subs than Disney.

If I could own one of those 2 companies today outright I'm taking Disney without question.

Bro stop... Netflix is not at all time highs and it's had a larger market cap all year long.

And I actually own Disney stock and I do not own Netflix. The Disney resurgence was in the past two weeks.

Smart move. Verizon is going to end up making a move for a streaming app because this is the real play...AT&T is doing this to package it together and sell more phone/cable/internet packages.

and that's why they are doing it.

Since I have AT&T fiber, I get HBO Max for free. This also entices people to switch from other ISPs to AT&T if it's available in their area.

Gangster move on all fronts.

Don't have to share with the big movie theaters either like you said.

Yup

Was shooting for a JVC NX-5 but couldn’t quite swing it in the budget. Got an Epson 5050ub and pretty satisfied, but will look at another JVC when native 4k becomes more reasonable...

This a dedicated media room but room is fairly small, about 13’x15’x9’ high with a 6’x6’ notch where a wet bar would normally go (didn’t option for it in the build). It’s comfortable for 4 but will fit 6 in a pinch if I use my riser seats behind the couch. Just my wife and I, so this is perfect for us. This set up was done cheep as the furniture and a majority of the stereo equipment I owned already. I’m only in it for the projector, the screen, the rug, the posters and paint and installed it all myself.
Here’s a 3D scan to give an idea of the setup.
