People keep talking about hating the X-Men while loving the Avengers. That's true in the comics but in the movies the reaction to the team has been mixed at best. That was the whole point of Civil war, people didn't want them running around unchecked. If you take those mixed feelings of these people are scary but they're heroes then add in people who have the powers without the heroics and they're hiding among you. That's where the hate and fear makes some sense.

Yeah it isn't as hard as people are making it out to be it can work pretty easily.

Everybody’s hype about X-Men but I’m TELLING YALL it’s gonna be FF4 and Doom who benefit most from this deal...

If I remember the quote, but I think someone from Disney mentioned visiting other dimensions, realities, planets and timelines.

That sounds like textbook FF (granted it could be anything cuz comics, but it's most definitely FF
)

I read recently that FF4 rights might not be in this deal

Variety reports that Disney has taken one step closer to finalising that deal with 21st Century Fox none of us have been able to stop talking about, as Comcast has seemingly decided that it's foolish to attempt to compete with that almighty Mouse money and bowed out of the chase.

So, pending an official announcement, it looks like a done deal. However, one set of Marvel characters that fall under the Fox umbrella may not be joining the party.

It turns out that Constantin Films still retains the production rights to The Fantastic Four, and even though they partnered-up with Fox for the past three movies, the fact that we have no idea how ownership of the property is currently divided means there is a chance that The Thing, Human Torch and co. won't be joining The X-Men in The MCU if the deal does go through.

It's been assumed that if the Disney 20th Century Fox deal goes through that Marvel would reclaim the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. It turns out only one of those is completely true.

If the monumental deal crosses the finish line Marvel and Disney will re-reacquire the X-Men, but for the Fantastic Four things get a bit more complicated. While Fox owns the distribution rights for Fantastic Four, it only owns part of the movie rights. The other part is owned by Constantin Film.

It all has to do with a deal Marvel made back in 1986. Marvel found a buyer for the Fantastic Four movie rights in Constantin Film, a German production company. In the years since the company has handled production on Fantastic Four, including the infamous Roger Corman film that never saw the light of day in theaters. Constantin made that film solely to keep the movie rights, but Marvel extended their rights back in 1992.

That changed in 1999 when Constantin entered into an agreement with 20th Century Fox, which saw the two companies share the movie rights.

So, if the Disney and 20th Century Fox deal does go through, Marvel will get the X-Men in their entirety, but the Fantastic Four is a little trickier. It could very well be that any contracts Fox has in place would carry over to their new home Disney, so Disney could immediately become the exclusive distributor for Fantastic Four projects.

As for Constantin, the Fantastic Four license has taken somewhat of a beating in recent years, with one franchise that sputtered out and another one that bombed after one film. It would probably be in Constantin's best interest to work with Disney on reinvigorating the franchise (similar to what Sony did with Spider-Man: Homecoming) if they plan on keeping it. If they don't want to be in the Fantastic Four businesses any longer they could just sell it to Disney and move on.

More than likely the contract with Constantin to work with Fox will now apply de facto to Disney. No fukkin way Disney loses out on FF over Constantin Films.

no doubt it'll carry over .. I'm just saying they don't fully own them to do what they want... or the way we stans been saying

Constatin produced the films and Fox was the distributor

I hear ya. It's like Hulk with Universal. They own solo rights cause they wanna cut and Disney gave em the :camby:we'll keep him in team up flicks.

But this is Constantin Films not Universal. Eisner and crew will hit that studio with the :rudy: if they attempt to fukk with this.
