I can’t lie, the homeless epidemic is serious out in the west. Was in LA at the end of last month, whoa homeless people every other block. And not just like homeless on the street. These people have occupied the streets, using there old cars as markers, setting up tents. Occupying the WHOLE block.

I been known but it seems like it’s gotten exponentially worse since my last visit

I really got a sense of it because the first night I arrived, couldn’t get any sleep so I walked around DTLA since my hotel was there. That’s when I realized the homeless issue is on the brink...
It's like that here in Denver too. It's sad.

I'll admit, some of these people are long gone mentally, but to act like this country can't afford to take care of it's homeless problem is seriously just without reason.

There's more housing that just remains empty cause these cities have no interest in building truly affordable housing, they just build luxury high rises and condos.

Plus look at the current job market that requires people to have a masters where it used to be a bachelor's and all of these requirements like 3-5 years experience.

Then inflation. Then artificial scarcity in housing. You mean to tell me you can't fix up some shipping containers for trucks and reuse those as temporary housing?

And really, a good amount of people in America are one or two paychecks away from being homeless themselves...

That's the point.

They can't pay it. They end up in jail, and then they can't afford to bail themselves out for prison. Then they get charged more that they can't afford to pay and end up there for years. Boom. Homeless problem solved.

:wow:

It's truly sickening when you think about it.

Not our problem, should have done better in school or hit the trades if they couldn't hang.....

We can't save everyone....

Get a job Grouch!!!!
It's not that easy to get a job when you're homeless and have no mailing address to send W-2 forms to or other essentials. Or an address to put on your applications or resumes.

Plus there's a stigma behind homeless people working, and you have to hide your status to your employers until shyt gets better and you have a temporary place of residence.

I can really see some French Revolution type shyt happening in this country before the end of my lifetime because of the income inequality set up by the Baby Boomer generation(even though they want to claim no responsibilty for it, all the dialing back of the social and economic reforms happened on their watch).

Liberal thinking/ideology isn't partisan.
Whatever is your point here other than finger wagging at liberals?
:hhh:
I'm telling you homelessness is not a partisan issue. There are homeless people in BOTH liberal and conservative states and cities. Especially those that have seen a significant uptick in the cost of living in the last 15-20 years. What's the point of being willingly obtuse if you're just going to regurgitate falsehoods that have no basis in reality?

It's a trap. Those homeless shelters can kick people out whenever they please.

I worked in a homeless shelter for a couple years. The people they kick out deserve to be kicked-out. They document EVERYTHING.

If they were removed without due-process, the shelter could be de-funded.
