Honestly, I think a lot of job postings are bogus, and job sites like careerbuilder simply get peoples info to build a database and make money off of it. When I worked at AT&T ALL of the good paying positions were filled internally.

Careeruilder worked for me. I got my current job off there as a plethora of interviews before it. And at the time, it was The only job site I was using.

Correction: Unemployed people, regardless of their race, talk about their GPA. After they get employed these types usually give it a rest. What I never understood about job interviews or this whole experience/education facade; most companies train you to work their software or the intricate rules/details of their organization. Your previous work history rarely coincides from employer to employer. Yes, there will be similarities but they're seldom the same.

I've never went on an interview selling anyone a dream. To truly know my work ethic you'll have to hire me.

One thing that recently started working for me was taking specific keywords from the job posting and putting them in my resume. Some of these companies use programs that search your resume for keywords if it's not there the hr rep won't even see that shyt.

Im currently looking for a new job and Im taking mad notes. and i cannot lie i've embellished a bit on my resume but then removed it in fear of getting caught but more times than not i ended up not getting the job anyway. maybe i should do it this time

Should they have to stress this if a career after college is the ultimate goal? If you re-read your sentence you will see this is due to YOUR misinformation/lack there of/or ignorance of what that department is there for. If the goal of going to college is to get a job and make money when you graduate shouldnt the Career Development Office be on your mind from the day you walk into that institution. They are there to help place you in jobs and internships while you are under their roof. If you fail to do so by not utilizing the resources available to you it isnt anyones fault but your own.

Dont do it. It will only lead to disappointment. They will pop you when you least expect it and terminate your ass. Be modest, dont oversell, know your strengths and weaknesses, show that you arent confrontational, willing to work closely with other team mates, confident but not arrogant etc and you will be hired. They will teach you what they need you to know even IF you dont have the necessary experiences
