Think it made hiphop the global force it is today. Not no Limit alone...but all the lables from 95-2005 really blew hiphop the fukk up. Bet too.
True, but it was pure business. It felt like every move was just a move to maximize the investment and it was too easy.
So in the end people were just following simple formulas (some had their own formula like Master P) and other had the major labels formula. We're talking about kids like Lil Romeo and Lil Bow Wow going plat, Chingy going multi and on with the weakest formulas and often very unoriginal.

The aspect of major exposure was exploited deeply. Hiphop became mainstream...coincidentally however so do the black race....:jawalrus:

Shared barcodes

Multiple albums would have the same barcode so you would end up with nikkas like Silk and Young Bleed going plat

On the humble how would that equate to more records sold

Is that why record sales declined due to the rise of the internet..less physical copies brought less product to manipulate?

What about J prince son?

Breh, there is nobody in the music industry right now, white or black, outside of cacs on the highest of levels, that has as much control over and ownership of their product, as Master P was able to get for himself in the 90's.

And he was selling half a mil or better, at $10 a pop, every time out, for damn near 3 years, releasing like a project every 3 months at times

It returned more $ or just inflated the sales numbers only

Todays business model doesnt allow a "Master P" type to succeed in this era

Not with all this:
Gentrification...streaming....lack of indy outlets....deejays r puppets..credit crunch

P had great timing...that era was perfect

Ps strength was not just in liquid cash but sovereignty

Which means ownership of licensing..masters....publishing...and huge equity in mechanical royalties and film

P told them JEWISH HOLLYWOOD EXECS who offered millions to distribute his films to go fukk themselves

Cause he would rather use his own u front money as a budget to partake in greater back end profits and rights

Smart!!

White folks in the entertainment field knew they were dealing with a different type of n1gga

Whom created the business model that would influence CASH MONEY

The 80/20 split in favor of the indy imprint

After that the MUSIC INDUSTRY SAID NO MORE DEALS LIKE THAT :whoa:

Because it empowered these negroes beyond their comprehension
