Daniel Day-Lewis' character, Hawkeye/Nathaniel Poe/Natty Bumpo (in the novel), has ALWAYS been a white character. He was born to white parents and raised by Indians.

There was no whitewashing by casting DDL to play that role. Period.

I never liked that theory and here's why I believe its wrong: George Lazenby's Bond lost his wife, the same wife that Roger Moore's Bond didn't want to talk about in Spy who loved me and grave he visited in For Your Eyes Only...also the same wife that Felix Leiter talked about with Timothy Dalton's Bond...Daniel Craig's Bond is essentially a new bond

Think of it as a superhero comic and how the characters are the basically the same for decades but look different due to different artists.

Breh I already replied to you in the other thread. I'm not saying DDL was pulling a Micky Rouke. I am literally saying if we can have a white samurai and a white mochican then there should be no problem with a black M-16 007 agent. It's pretty fukking obvious that's what I'm trying to relay since I brought up the last samurai which was pretty much the last mochican in japan.

James Bond isn't one guy, it's a code name giving to 007 agents. I'm personally against affirmative action charity in comic book movies and remakes. But James Bond is the exception.

I've been a Bond fan since the 80's ...if this franchise hopes to continue to keep their black audience they may have to jazz it up a little. I mean Bond chopped down several black women in the series. Why can't a black man chop down some hoes, drive a nice car and shoot bad guys to save the day?

I agree Daniel Craig was already a step in a new (the wrong) direction looks-wise as far as continuity goes. However, the point is: James Bond is not just a code name. He's supposed to be the same person in every movie, as ridiculous as that may seem. If he were just a code name, you'd be right and a black Bond would be due. But it's not. So a black 'Bond' would have to be a black 00 agent who is not James Bond. But then, what would be the point? Would we need a spinoff for every race and every sort of physical feature? Of course not.

Actually Craig and more so Dalton look exactly how Ian Fleming envsioned Bond to be, Hollywood added all that pretty boy stuff.

I agree with you on Bond not being a code name, that theroy has been debunked so many times now. Yes all the actors who have played Bond have had their own quirks, but it is esentially the same man in all the films.

I don't have a problem with a black 007. And I'll agree with you that whitewashing is a significant problem in Hollywood.

But DDL wasn't playing a fukking Mohican. He was a white actor playing a white character. A character who has been white since the story was written in the 1800s.

Stop being stuck on the title of the movie.
